Don't you hate being made to feel like an idiot? (RANT)

I have been at my job for just over a month now and everyday I have moments where there might be some hair pulling. Usually it's just me wanting to pull my own hair out. Some of the people I work with I am convinced are just not very bright! Mostly, they just don't use common sense!!! It drives me nuts. I know there are plenty of people here that are smarter than me, but I think most of them have no common sense whatsoever! Ahhhh!!!

 

The above coupled with my project manager treating me like an idiot are enough to cause me to want to throw things! He has never taken the time to find out what my qualifications are. If he did, he would know that I should have the same job title that he does and the only reason I don't is because I don't have my license. He treats me like I'm just out of college! It's sooooo annoying!!! I'm very much a make your point, I'll ask questions if needed, thank you very much type of person. He just keeps explaining everything to the -nth degree! I've gotten to the point where I'm just rude so maybe he'll get the hint. I know I shouldn't be but he has no say in my employment so to that end I'm not worried. We have recently started a mentoring program within the firm so I have vented all of this to my mentor. And my mentor is very much aware of my abilities - he intereviewed me.

 

It's just frustrating dealing with people who I know are smart but just can't quite seem to use their common sense! Okay - rant over. Thank you.

Might as well get used to it and not let it bother you. Worklife was ever thus.

I agree to an extent. I wouldn't have ranted had my co-workers not been this bad - I've never worked with people this dense before.
