Phofi Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Hello My partner works from home and has invited a female friend to come over and work with him here. Is this something other people would be comfortable with or is it not normal? She has space in her house to work and they don't do the same job or work for the same company
Els Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Errr, we're going to need a bit more info on this. How long has he known her? How often is she coming over and for how long? Are you home whenever she is? Do you know her? 2
JTSW Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Are you going to be there at the same time? How does he know her if they are not work colleagues? What job do they both do?

Alpacalia Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Depending on the friendship, work, and other specifics this could be normal or not.
Author Phofi Posted September 7, 2023 Author Posted September 7, 2023 Hello sorry They met at work about 3cyears ago, worked together for a month then she left and they've stated friends. He's an it guy and she does something with finance products or something, I'm not sure exactly Yes ill be in the house, yes I've met her I didn't like it initially when they met as he kept mentioning her so I insisted on meeting her and to be honest, I don't like how well they get on but I've never been given an obvious reason to doubt him and he's said there's nothing going on but it's not as if I've ever asked him if he'd like to be with her if I didn't exist. I just don't understand why he'd even think it was a good idea unless the only reason was to just be in her presence?
MsJayne Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Is she going to be paying rent for work space, electricity, wifi use? I wouldn't be at all comfortable with this arrangement without a reasonable explanation because it's quite an intrusion into your personal space.
JTSW Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 It sounds like he has an interest in her and likes being around her. If you are not comfortable with that then you need to be honest with him and tell him.
Alpacalia Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I don't know. On one hand you want to give your boyfriend the freedom to be friends with whom he pleases, but on the other hand you don't want to feel like you're losing him to someone else. I will say though if your boyfriend is going to cheat on you, then give him the space to do it and then dump him.
