Alpacalia
I was just given a job opportunity working with an individual that was diagnosed with a fatal disease. I just went through this already and it was incredibly difficult. The opportunity came from a friend of the person I worked with that passed, and they know the similar situation I am going into. It's a really good opportunity but I don't know if I am prepared to go through this again so soon as the person I used to work with just passed away a few months ago. Am I cray for considering taking on this offer?
Foxhall
Perhaps you are best to avoid this type of sadness again so soon, You could look to work in a slightly different area- counselling or working closely with people needing help with addictions or something of that nature life coaching would stand out from your previous postings as an area you would have a lot to offer in. 1
MsJayne
That would be very conflicting. I'd say put your own well-being first, if you feel you can handle the emotional weight of working with another person who's life's coming to an end go for it, but if you're still recovering from the previous client then give yourself a break because you can't give the 100% that's needed if you're still feeling a bit wobbly. 1
FMW
If you're questioning your ability to handle such a situation again, I think it's more likely than not that you are not up for it. Pay attention to your hesitance. 1
