chickendinner12
Wednesday night I went to bed with chills, muscle aches, and a fever. I didn't have any respiratory symptoms so just assumed I needed to turn on the heat. The next day the chills were better, but I started having massive diarrhea. All the water I drank would go right out of me in the form of diarrhea. Went to the doctor, tested negative for COVID, and he said I most likely had a stomach bug that's been going around. Please wash hands. I had told my partner last week I'd go with him to his friend's birthday party on Friday, but I was too sick to go. I'm feeling better now, except for my joints feel very sore, but I feel horrible that I let him down. Should I feel bad? Is there something I can do to make up for breaking my word? d0nnivain
You were sick. If we learned nothing else from Covid, its stay home & don't share germs. You didn't let anybody down. You acted responsibly to not give everybody else at the party your germs. Thanks for not making it a super speader event. 1
NuevoYorko
It's not "letting them down" when you can't do something due to illness. You are not breaking your word. You do not need to do any kind of penance. Heavens.
ShyViolet
I'm not sure how this is a serious question? You were so sick that you went to the doctor and took a covid test. Why would you put yourself through a guilt trip that you somehow did something wrong? You have the right to skip a party if you're truly sick, which you were. As an adult this is a pretty basic thing that you should know how to navigate. 2
ShyViolet
I am also still curious as to why the gender pronoun of your partner keeps switching between "he" and "she" in all your threads. Are you in relationships with two different people? Or one person who is gender fluid or something? Not that it matters but it makes one question the honesty of your posts. glows
The gender changed mid relationship when I was dating a transgendered person who came out so I assumed that may be the case but could be wrong. You could just be honest with him and say you feel bummed that you were so sick and missed the Fri party. Don’t say how do I make it up as it’s overkill. Just keep it simple. You’re bummed and want to look forward to plans now that you’re better. Focus on what other plans you have coming up. Don’t dwell on this too much.
basil67
Another vote for "you can't be serious with this question". Are you feeling lonely and wanting people to talk with?

If you have any type of contagious disease it's better to isolate and yes....wash your hands. It's not the time to party and get everyone else sick with gastroenteritis.
