No i just want to look into the future and thats what I am going to do. Besides, is it true that if I pay too much attention to her that she will lose interest?

Oh.

It's perfectly fine to show a girl you like he. Being overly clingy is a different problem. It's unlikely that a decent person would be interested in someone who is too dependent on them. IF you constantly follow her around like a puppy, it gives the wrong impression and that your sole purpose is to please her. In a way, it's actually selfish because you care about them but you're not giving them anything to care about. It's also strange because there is a weird implication that attention is currency for love.

Anyway, she seems a bit ickle about dealing with intense levels of attention. And it might also be because she is not completely over her ex. You're both very young.

She seems to preoccupied with the attention from guys at the moment.

Get hobbies or do things that make you happy. Maybe try talking to other girls and expanding your friendship circle. If she sees that you're not focusing all your attention on her, she might start to see you in a different light and realize that you're not just a friend, but a potential romantic partner. Plus, you never know, as you grow older, things might change and you both might become more interested in each other. But don't solely focus on that happening, try to live in the present and focus on yourself.

Thank you so much for the advice.

Ah, the old "treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen" myth. No, this is a fallacy spread by males with the intelligence of a cornflake. Think about what it means - it's encouraging you to be deliberately manipulative towards a girl you like, toxic behaviour called "playing hard to get".  If you're attracted to a girl the stupidest thing to do is play childish mind games with her, smart men do not use this, (ultimately self-defeating), tactic, because only naive and immature girls will potentially respond positively, smart girls can spot it a mile away and then they'll definitely lose interest. My bit of advice is don't take advice from guys who de-humanise girls by talking about them as if they're a different breed put on the Earth for men's amusement. Another bit of advice is learn about body language, the physical things a girl does when you're around her will give you accurate indicators of whether she's attracted to you. Example, if she's flicking her hair around a lot while talking to you,  batting her eyelashes, looking into your eyes a lot, etc, those are female mating behaviours, and if they're not happening you know not to waste your time.
