Thoughts on this scenario

Recommended Posts

A while back, I started dating a woman who I met online who lives about a mile away. We had 4 dates (all which went very well) before I met her parents when they were home at the time I picked her up for a 5th date.  I'm an electrician by trade, and I couldn't help notice that her house (actually her parents' house) needed some electrical updates.  New service panel, GFCI's, among other things.  In conversation with her father, I offered to do the work at material-cost only (no labor). He declined and chose to leave everything as-is. I took offense to that. After that date, I ghosted her.

Sorry this happened. Unfortunately even though you meant well, it was a bit over the boundaries to analyze their home and electrical system. Sadly it could come across as a sales pitch. Do you like this woman or do you think it's not recoverable?

Ghosted her because her father declining electrical services? Why was that so offensive for you?
