Best way to say you like someone, or the reverse?

Recommended Posts

I've known this girl for just over a year, we do stuff every week or so, nothing too serious just lunch here, drinks there, hang out and help her study sometime or just talk on the phone for an hour.

Lately shes been getting really flirty like last study session she came over dressed to kill, definitely not chemistry attire! :) So we ended up going out for drinks and just talked. Always get that over the shoulder hug whenever the night comes to a close but i'm inexperienced so i never make any real physical advances aside from the hug at the end of the night.

Now she says she has a boyfriend, but in the year and a half of knowing her I've never met him, never seen him, and don't know of anyone thats actually met him! hmm! I'm thinking the boyfriend line is a way to provide a shield for herself maybe? Doesn't want to seem too vulnerable or interested? Usually makes comparisons between myself and "the boyfriend", weird how he's so similar to me in some ways from what shes said!

Anyways, this last saturday we went out for drinks and she knew my birthday was today (nov 14th) even asked me if I knew if she knew how old I was going to be, like she wanted me to test her. Well, I didn't ask her out since I was going to spring it on her on sunday so she got grumpy and distant like she was mad at me, or at least it seemed that way. So lastnight I asked her out tonight and she was all happy and bouncy for the rest of the night.

Now my real question, tonight I'm taking her to a nice place for my bday dinner, and I'd like to let her know how I feel about her, and see if she feels the same way but I don't know the best way to bring that up, just ask "hey I like you, do you like me?" or something better?

Any advice would be appreciated, tonight will hopefully be the night I find out how she feels.

Well she says she has a BF... End of story unless you can prove otherwise.

You should start flirting with her more... Give her a hug BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your 'dates'.

I give her a hug before and after everything we go do. And this boyfriend has yet to show so he needs to prove he exists before I'll believe he does! :)

Women often say one thing and do another. You should act based on what she does.... not what she says.

She acted all flirty but still said she had a boyfriend? Don't shy off. Even if he exists, odds are she's interested in you.

Suck it up and just do it. What have you got to lose? You're wasting time right now that could be spent after other girls... so just get some answers and either enjoy, or move on.

Some girls are flirty yet have boyfriends. She says she has a boyfriend, so back the f-off. Just because she hugs you doesn't mean she want you.

She might just be disappointed because she wants you to want her, but might noit want you back. And hugging doesn't mean anything. In fact, it means less than nothing.

You've got nothing to lose, though. Next time she is close try to kiss her. She'll either freak out and you'll get the "just friends" lecture, or she'll be into it and that's that. EIther way, you'll know and can move on with your life.

Striph

Dont give up on this gal. She seems to be somewhat interested in you and you sound very sweet to respect her so much. Keep hanging out and keep giving her plenty of attention. Sometimes younger women say they have a boyfriend to entice a little competition. Its OK...if she didnt like you she wouldnt hang out with you so much.

Good luck
