Maybe her original question..."Is it abuse?" needs to be answered clearly so she can take action and have the authorities deal with her irresponsible excuse of a mother.

A slap across the face is hardly abuse compared to what her mother is allowing these drunken guyz do to her.

Totally agree with you MWC .. i would be worried about the men getting in my room and the fact she is letting them !! She is a sorry excuse for a mother letting it happen like that !! What kind of example is showing for these girls?

That's bulls***.

So... what if my MOTHER is misbehaving? Does that mean I have the *right* to smack her across the face as well? Is it *okay* for my Dad to hit my mother when he is pissed off at her - or vice versa? See where I'm going with this?

Hitting is WRONG. Period.

that is so stupid you should never use violence i dont even like it when someone spanks their child.that person who ever wrote that ,that its okay to hit well they probely hit people thats why they are saying it.

Pr 13:24 - He who withholds his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

Pr 29:15 - The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.

Pr 22:15 - Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.

everyone has been replying to this post based on their judgment and experience with their own lives, but there not seeing the real picture...

you see a 17 year old girl who is trying to talk about her problems...she didnt ask for everyone to get so ARGUMENTIVE over this thread.

i think the real problem is here is the drunk guys who keep trying to get in to your room, sounds like your mother slaped you because you tried to stand up for your self.

by bringing up these guys your mother brings home, says her reasons for slapping you are not right.

UH duh people?

you can disciplin your child, with out abuse....that is not healthy at all.. a little slap isnt healthy, it scares them not teaches them

what happend to the soap in the mouth trick, the time out time, the no tv, no cell phone,

now that will really make a child stop lol
