Is she the problem or am I?

My girlfriend and I just broke up a month ago. She is an awesome person but sometimes I would get angry at her.

We moved in and she is 24 and I am just turning 20. She says that she can't trust me with my friends bevause she thinks I am going to the bar to look at the girls there. She said I made her feel this way. We could not even watch t.v. because she said there was too much sex on it. She would turn it off when a love scene came on t.v. then i would get made and say who cares. We would fight about it all the time. She wanted to rent a movie but we had to find one that was not rated R because she doesn't like the sex thing. We made love 3 or 4 times a week I don';t understand her how could I make her feel that way. She always told me that I did not love her enough but i would do things and take her everywhere. Is she crazy or did I screw up somewhere?

She is pathologically jealous and insecure. Forget about her and thank your lucky stars she's out of your life. She would have caused you endless misery.

Sounds like she lacked trust in you. I'm a firm believer though that it takes two to tango. You may very well have done something to make her lose trust in you (or never develop trust in you). We don't have enough information to go on yet.

 

Perhaps she has trust issues that go deeper than the two of you. How long were you together and how well did you know her? Was there something in her past still bothering her.... sexual abuse, baggage from an ex....?

Sounds like a pretty bad case of insecurity. Be thankful you found this out now before you ended up cavorting down the aisle.

Her old boyfreind would come home and look at porn all day long she told me and her dad use to hit her sometimes she said. Sometimes I would not talk to her about our problems and we lacked communication. We weere at the gorcery store once and she caught me taking a friendly glance at someone. Seh told me how could I do that we when loved each other. I did not think it was a big deal because I loved her and never would think about cheating on her.
