Bittersweet holiday

Recommended Posts

The happy part: My daughter and her b/f came over for dinner with me and my son yesterday. To bad they couldnt have stayed longer..it was like 2 hours and they were woooosh. Had to get to HIS parents at 3pm. But I put on a happy face hoping she'd take home with her that I've changed.

Where was moomy? Celebrating 100 miles away with her sister I hear, and alone I presume.

I was as happy as I could be until...as fate would have it, I opened up a paryer book in front of my daughter. There on the first page:

It will get easier once you allow it to.

The holidays can be hard, especially the first holiday after separation, divorce, or widowhood. Healing is a gradual process.

The first Christmas after my ex left was almost impossible. I did have family & friends nearby, though. Spent quite a bit of time crying in my beer with my brother & old friends. It was nice to have them around.
