turtle583 Posted December 7, 2005 Share Posted December 7, 2005 I met my boyfriend this summer, I lived in a different city over the summer and worked as a waitress for a summer job and that is where we met. He is 25 and he is still a server, I am 23 and will graduate from college in may. He just moved to where i am( another city) a week ago, a really quick move and I asked my parents if he could stay at my house (with my parents) until he was situated and they said okay but they did not know it would be two weeks (he is still here). We did not know either and that was not planned. My dad is a short tempered man, my sister is a very over opinionated person and my mom is quiet and doesn't address issues until they are brought to her attention and my brother could care less and will love me no matter what decision I make in my life. They totally disagree with this decision of him moving here to be with me, they say that he is a con artist, a bum, and that he is 25 with no ambition. I am happy with my relationship and as far as my family is concerned they will not be happy with me (it seems our relationships are suffering) unless I break up with him. That is not something I want to do, my heart would be broken and I want to make these decisions about my life on my own and not because anyone else wanted me to. I am not one to be concerned about money and being well endowed. I know my boyfriend more than they do and the are assuming the worse and making me feel like i am failing and i am ruining my life. What should I do, I need a second opinion, I feel like it is either my family or him but thats ridiculous, please help me!!![/b] Link to post Share on other sites
Tangerina Posted December 7, 2005 Share Posted December 7, 2005 It would probably alleviate a ton of the pressure if he moved out of their house. They probably feel imposed upon... he probably is a great guy but they are starting to get antsy about having him in their house, which they did as a favor to him and you. I can see how this would cause a lot of tension. Just get him out of there and into a hostel until he finds his own place and see if things clear up a bit. Link to post Share on other sites
