18 Years this Monday!

Recommended Posts

So, I had a hot air balloon ride scheduled for Monday afternoon after I got Mrs. Moose up bright and early and feed her breakfast in bed.

Afterwards, I was going to run her a hot bath in the jacuzzi, then claim that I wanted to take her shopping for the afternoon. Then surprise her by pulling into the launching field.

BUT! I just talked to the pilot, (a good friend of mine I used to work with), and turns out, he had a little accident......fell out of his basket, and broke his hip.

So the balloon ride isn't going to happen.

I've taken her to Branson sooooo many times that I don't want to revert back to that, unless that's my last option......( We get a room, and treat ourselves to massages, huge suppers, go dancing, see the shows.....)

SOOO, I'm asking you guys here on LS for some suggestions......

Anybody have any good ideas on what to do for Mrs. Moose's 18th year of pain and suffering???

Congrats moose, on 18 years, thats great! :) Not sure what to tell you as far as suggestions. Guess it depends on what she likes. You know her better than anyone. Lets see, maybe a candle lit dinner, a movie? Go out to a fancy restaurant? A small intimate get together with a few close friends? Do they have carriage rides avaliable in your area? that might be cool. I dunno, anyway congrats again! :D

Congrats moose, how about chartering a twin engine aircraft for a private flight to some other location say 30 to 60 minutes from where you are, get a great hotel, take Mrs. Moose to a fine restaurant if that's what she likes, maybe take in a show and do the jacuzzi thing in the (Bridal?) suite back at the hotel. You could throw in a massage somewhere there too.

If she's more of an adventurous type how about a tandem skydive?

Locally, is there a quiet place (part of a restaurant or a private house or cottage, etc.) that you could rent for the day and take her "out" to a private dinner complete with your own musicians (yes, hired just for the dinner and playing her kind of music) served by staff that you hire just to show her how much you love her.

What does she like to do or dream or talk about doing someday?

Great ideas! I like the Carriage ride, and the Christmas play.....and of course the candle light dinner.

This is not only a treat for her, but it's in season as well.

I doubt I'd be able to talk her into going to Vegas, NYC or Disney this time of year. She fears flying already and is paranoid about freezing wings. Thanks for the idea though, she's wanting to go back and see old faithfull again, ( She saw it on the amazing race), I'm planning that one for the spring.

Im guessing by all the post she is a higher end woman. Likes the elaborate stuff.

I would prefer some very nice small bed and breakfast off somewhere peaceful. Take in a nice leasurely horseback ride, a local spa for luxury with a nice dinner somewhere.

Simple, romantic, quiet, relaxing, with a touch of pampering.

I'm definitely going to pamper her!

I still like the carriage ride idea.

Craig, I'm thinking you're right......I'm going to do some research on Hot Springs Arkansas and see what's there.

EWW, I can charter a helicopter from here!!

She loves the mountainess scenery......plus, they should have a retreat or two out there with the dinners and massages......

Has anyone been there? ( I can't believe I haven't ).......

Great Idea Moose!!! Helicopter there, get picked up by a carriage (there has to be a way), rose petals on the bed when you get to your room/suite all the extras ...very good brainstorming going on here today.

Wow, this is starting to sound really good. Maybe you should hire a videographer to document the event for your grand kids grand kids.

congrats on your upcoming anniversary, Moose! You're one special guy to plan something special for her

the carriage ride sounds really romantic, as does the bed & breakfast, but those are my personal tastes. What is she into, in addition to being in the mountains? Would a roadtrip to offbeat places in your area (on the way to the mountains, of course) be fun for her? Visiting a workshop or factory where they create a favorite product of hers (James Avery, a Texas silversmith, has got a workshop in the Hill Country area that is a dream destination of many of my female coworkers)?

EXCELLENT!!! Carriage there waiting! That is soooo cool!! I gotta get busy!!!

Thanks for the compliments lilmomma and quank....I like the silversmith idea.....does she actually have to work on her project herself though?

I want to do something to where she won't have to lift a finger if she doesn't want to. But I'm interested in exploring that further for a future trip. There's also a diamond mine in Arkansas that I'd like to go to myself....maybe I'll tie that in somehow.....

Congrats Moosey!

OK, it's just the way I'm feeling today (sentimental) so one thing I suggest is write her a letter or put it in a card and really express what she means to you. Speak from your heart and soul. That, I know would melt her heart and mean alot to her if you did that.

Craig's got some great ideas going, so it seems you're covered there!

Avery workshop is where you watch the silversmiths do their thing, I don't think they offer hands-on stuff. However, if she likes silver jewelry, I'm sure she'd be thrilled to watch them create!
