witabix
As spin off from another post I was wondering how important humour is to the LS females? Would you overlook a guy's ugliness if he were funny? I have heard it said that humour can get you into a woman's bed, was wondering if that is true, or more relevantly what you all thought about it? How funny would a REALLY UGLY guy have to be? Or would you prefer the world's most handsome man even if he were devoid of humour? And..... too many ands here methinks but what the hell..... what are your thoughts on hiding the real man behind his humour, thinking of the tortured souls behind the famous funny people here. Author witabix
How ugly would a guy have to be before you found him funny? Replying to my own posts feels reaallllly wierd.
JadeStar
Well I can't speak for the other ladies but for me, humor plays a huge role in a relationship for me. One of the things that attracted me to my husband was his humor, and the fact he was goodlooking wasn't bad either. However, when I was in high school and dated this one guy, he was not goodlooking at all, but his humor attracted me to him as well. He was so funny! I consider myself pretty humorus at times and even friends/family have said so, guess thats a quailty have looked for in the past. Jade

I am very funny. You should come out for drinks and then you'll see. But I don't think someone who is humourless could date someone who is funny. It would work so well. So not true alpha. I'm pretty humrous, maybe not on here in cyber world but in real life I have been told that I am, and yes I believe it.
JS17
In the real world I'm always the funny girl. On LS I'm a whiny biyotch. I'm ok with both. Humor is so important to me. I would go out with an ugly guy that was funny if the chemistry was there.
alphamale
I am very funny. So not true alpha. I'm pretty humrous oh yeah? i'd like to see both you sit thru 3 hours of Three Stooges short films and even laugh one time. Both of you'd be sitting there thinking "why is Moe hitting Curley on the head, that is soooo mean! " and after that you'd both think "why is Shemp pulling all of Larry's hair out, that's not nice at all!!!"

whichwayisup
I think by now you know me well enough to see that I have good humour alpha...I love the Three Stooges and ofcourse "bathroom" humour too. I see MANY couples together who are both very funny, together and each as a person. (You know what I mean, I'm having trouble formulating my words, it's too damn cold out today, been running around out and about for afew hours, my boobs are about to fall off!) There's nothing worse than being in an argument and the other person can't laugh.

hotgurl
Arguments aren't *humourous* events... why would anyone laugh during one? sometimes when an argument gets so bad you just need to laugh as a release then you can get back to the problem. It's the old if I didn't laugh I've have to cry.

But I do like more biting comedy like south park. Although that is pretty groos too but funny. I am light hearted and humorous with my bf and he returns the favor.
whichwayisup
Arguments aren't *humourous* events... why would anyone laugh during one? But sometimes it's a good way of lightening up the moment. It has worked for me, past, present and will again in the future. I know my husband appreciates it at times. Maybe you're not one of those people who can sit back and see things in the light I do at times. That's okay, You're you and I'm me. Nothing wrong with it. If it isn't something you'd try or do during an argument, don't do it. It's not like I DO that all the time, I pick my moment and if the appropriate time comes along for me to slip one in, I go for it.
Art_Critic
I haven't watched the stoogies so I don't know. I have found this to be true about most women.. there is nothing funnier than the stooges.. it is silly humor that all guys love and understand. They are the best of the best.. It wasn't on TV when I was a kid. My dad loves it though. I love South Park too. I'm a big Simpsons and Family Guy fan too. I'm a geek, I laugh out loud at the TV when those shows are on. Love when Larry hits curly and moe in the face and hits them with hammers ,etc I have never met a female in real life who liked the Stooges. How can women say they are funny and not "get" the Stooges? Is it too physical for women? Is there not enough to analyze? Is it too low-brow?
Outcast
Would you overlook a guy's ugliness if he were funny? It takes intellect to be witty. Both together are HOT. How funny would a REALLY UGLY guy have to be? I'd do Billy Crystal and I don't believe GQ's been after him. Or would you prefer the world's most handsome man even if he were devoid of humour? No, nay, never. Gotta seduce the brain to get to the rest the majority of females are attracted to humourous men because they themselves are not that funny. Oh here we go again I get roomfuls of people laughing. Nothing more fun than trading quips with a witty fellow. oh yeah? i'd like to see both you sit thru 3 hours of Three Stooges short films and even laugh one time. Both of you'd be sitting there thinking "why is Moe hitting Curley on the head, that is soooo mean! " and after that you'd both think "why is Shemp pulling all of Larry's hair out, that's not nice at all!!!" there is nothing funnier than the stooges.. it is silly humor that all guys love and understand. They are the best of the best Well now wouldn't it make sense that slapstick appeals more to men who are more visual and wordplay to women, who are more verbal? Must we make this a 'my way's better' rant yet again? Arguments aren't *humourous* events... why would anyone laugh during one? A lot of arguments are stupid and petty and if one of you figures out you're being foolish in the middle of a fight and points it out and the other laughs along, the stupid fight is defused.
