hopelessly_naive
I know what you're going through, I've had chronic migraines and virtigo for nine years. You need to see a doctor soon, especially if this is a fairly new problem. Chronic pain can affect almost every aspect of your life including your relationships with others, sometimes seeing a therapist can help you to learn to cope with others reactions to what you're going through. Hope you feel better soon.

whichwayisup
You need to talk to your DR so they can prescribe some migraine medication for you. In the meantime, try to drink alot of water, take advil (liquid capsules made for migraine pain), if you can, lay down for a little while. I think most people at work are pretty understanding when it comes to migraines. Maybe a little nap will help you feel better. Cut out ALL caffeine out of your diet. Bit by bit, stop with sugar and sweets too. Eat small snacks throughout the day, especially nibble on fruit. The horomone imbalance, is that your menstral cycle? I am assuming that is what you meant. If you are on the pill, you may want to stop taking it. For me, I had awful migraines and going off the pill helped alot! The other thing is, could be weather related too, as well as the stress. This time of year IS stressful so just don't push yourself past your limit. Get enough sleep at night, have a hot bath before bed too, that will help calm your nerves. basscatcher
Is there any one else on the board inchronic pain? I have had a killer migriane for two weeks and todya it is horrible I've already taken two pain pills and am very dizzy yet I have to be at work. How do you cope. I know it has made some issues with my BF seem worse. I am a wreck today I seen this thread and didn't open it until now. I live with constant cronic pain. I have Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, and have suffered from Vertigo for the past 11 years and I have calcium buildup (arthritis) in my spine. I am fortunate that I don't suffer from Migraines but do get a jab of a headache very rarely and they don't go away easily. Usually takes for me to go to my Chiropractor and take two tylenol and go to bed early to rid myself of it. I have read some place that Migraines are caused by a rapid decline and lack of B Complex vitamins which helps the body when under stress. I personally take a array of vitamins and minerals (when I can afford it), Tylenol as needed (sometimes up to 8 at a time for severe pain), regularly visit my Gonstad Technique Chiropractor, and just learn pain tolerance. I will have underlying pain for the rest of my life that I cannot do anything about. Then there is the type of pain I can control by maintaining my mental, physical and emotional health doing the things I have stated. I truly believe in alternative healthcare. I seen an herbalist and when I was on his complete health plan I felt the best I have ever felt in my life but I can't afford $186. worth of suppliments every 50 days or so. I wish you the best in finding your solution. I have learned to maintain my pain and tolerate it.

It is worse when I am off BC. JS17
You sound like you have a lot of stuff going on hotgurl. Migraines can be caused by so many different things it feels near impossible to figure out why. I used to get them along with chronic sinus infections for years. I went on Claratin D, a nasal spray and cut dairy out of my diet and they went away except for once or twice a year. I have no idea if that's why for you or whether that will work, my point is you have to try a lot of different things to get rid of the underlying problem.
basscatcher
I was on Celebrex, Celexa, some kind of muscle relaxer, 8 Tylenol, Yasmin at the same time for 2 years. I have also been on many other meds perscribed by Western medicine and it all got me more sick. I have a stomach problems now too from all the meds. I had to get off all the perscription drugs because they truthfully only helped for a few months and then caused other issues along the way.. Thats why I started to research alternative medicine. All the shyt I was on only worked for a short period and caused many side effects. I have had better luck with alternative theraphys. I also had problems with cysts so I have had my share of problems and tried many things. I am not one who wants to take medications to help with all my problems so I chose to take the least evasive route.
Author hotgurl
I do have allergies I am on two allergy meds and a topical steroid because my white blood cells that are supposed to be in my intestine came up to my esphagus and started attacking it. It is better now but I was throwing up 3-4 times a day for a while. I need to cut out wheat and dairy I have had luck with that but the holidays are very hard to stick to it. I was thinking of asking to be tested for immune disorders because headaches & problems with insulin, allergies can but assocaited with immune disorders like lupus etc... I had one nuerolgist in Boston tell me there is nothing he can do for me that hasn't already been done. As for test I have had cat scans mri mra mrv, where the inject die into you, and many other horrible tests. THe worst is when they pit a tube down my nose into the stomach. As for alternative care I beleave in it totally but have run out of $$. I was doing acupunture. and it helped and meditation which I have to start again.
