wantingtoknow123 Posted December 23, 2005 Share Posted December 23, 2005 I would like to know how to bring it up on our future together. My relationship is a bit unusual. I'm 40 and he is 25. We live in different countries. We have been going together 1 1/2 years. I am here in his country now. He gets odd and distant at times and finally I just simply asked him what was up. What was wrong. He said the age difference bothers him a little still. He worries about my dying first. I said that is all you are worried about? You haven't lost interest or want to see others or anything like that and he said that was the only thing that everything else was great. So I just took his hand in mind and said what I felt. That he had to make up his own mind about things. I told him to take him time and think about things. We talk on the phone last night and he talks about having a family. I asked him one time and he said if he was going to marry someone it would be me. I know he is just slow about decided things as when we met in person he said he wasn't sure if he loved me yet but a few months later he said he did love me. I asked him about that and he told me the truth and then I just let it go. I was worried about him losing interest as he goes off in his own little world sometimes. When he was here, I snooped and saw where he was talking to someone about a month ago and they asked about us and he told them the same thing he told me. The age diff was bothering him. He said that he cared deeply for me and he thought I did for him too. I mean I am crazy in love with him and he sounded like he wasn't sure I love him! So my question is this. How long should I wait for him to decide? Should I give him a deadline of a year or something like that? Everytime we are together it gets harder and harder to be apart for me. Frankly, I don't even want to go back this time. I am also a bit afraid that it will be 5 years from now and we will still be going back and forth between our countries still in limbo.
