Why is Cornell U better than Penn U??(n/m)

Cornell is better because the cafeteria food is tastier, the chicks are sexier, the profs are easy, the librarians put out, you can pay tuition by installment plan, you can pay others to take exams for you, guys and gals can share dorm rooms, Cornell pays students to join frats and sororities, and it's closer to the airport.

What better reasons could you want to attending the wonderful, historic and esteemed Cornell University? If it was good enough for Carl Sagan, it's good enough for anybody.

My feeling is that both schools are very good. But which one you select should be dependent on what you plan to study. Cornell has some strengths in certain areas while while Penn is excellent in many areas.

When Carl Sagan was alive and on the faculty of Cornell, there was no question that Cornell was tops in astronomy and physics.

Without doing research, I would attend Penn. But, again, just depends on what you're going to study. Use the Internet to get the ratings of the different departments in the school.

When all is said and done, nobody in the world is going to care where you went to school as long as you've got your head screwed on straight.

What is this, some kind of quiz?

Wharton School of Business is probably the tops. If it's Business and Finance you're wanting to get into, Wharton is absolutely the best.

If you need more, seek the advice of a college counsellor. I am not a qualified academic advisor. I received my BA from Univesity of South Florida, MA (Honors Degree) from University of London, and a PhD from Auburn. Those are the only schools I can speak about with any degree of confidence.

But I am very confident that Wharton is a great business school with an excellent reputation.

You might seek out some academic newsgroups or forums for serious discussion of this topic.

It really doesn't make that much of a difference which school you goto, but what you do while you're there.

A school could have the best program in the world, but that doesn't mean you'll be more likely to succeed there...you may fail all your classes and get kicked out.

I know a 28-year-old guy who went to Cornell and received a wonderful education and is now working for the government making ~$40,000 a year.

One of my friends went to Penn...he's having trouble finding a job right now even though he had very high grades and tons of extracurricular activities.

My friend's boyfriend, who is 21 years old, went to Northern Virginia Community College for 2 years, is in the process of transferring to another school to complete his degree, but is working in the computer field making about $75,000 a year.

And my 25-year old brother dropped out of college because he wasn't doing very well in there, and instead got a job making about $230,000 a year.

So it's not what school you goto. The name of the school won't guarantee you any success. It's how good you are at the things that you do.

Cornell, Penn, Dartmouth, and Columbia are all excellent schools. Visit the webpage of each school and gather information on your own about the positives and negatives of the program they offer that you are interested in.

Don't you have a career center or counselor at your high school to give you this information?

YOU WRITE: "And my 25-year old brother dropped out of college because he wasn't doing very well in there, and instead got a job making about $230,000 a year."

You make a great point. Bill Gates and Paul Allen dropped out of Harvard after their freshman year and went on to found The Microsoft Corporation. Bill Gates is now worth about $70 billion.

So considering the experience of your brother and Gates, maybe it's more appropriate to consider which school is better to drop out of than to obtain a degree at???

YOU WRITE: "is that right? since this global economic recession,a well educated person, like them can be jobless.

Well, in a perfect world, most everybody would be jobless because we wouldn't need doctors, lawyers, mechanics, electricians, laborers, etc...because everything would be perfect.

So the more imperfect the world is, the more employment there is.

And just think about Windows...as long as it doesn't work so well, just think how many thousands will have jobs.

Now as far as a global recession, there is no evidence of one. However, there is a bit of an economic slowdown simply because things can't go forever at a feverish pace. Everthing needs a rest now and then...even the economy.

do you know!

I've been working at a major investment bank for the last 7 years. i cannot think of one single day without arriving at work without having already smoked a joint. Then 3 years ago i picked up an heroine/coke habit .I've been shooting up during lunch almost everday during these 3 years. So far I'm handling my work alright, and I don't think anyone suspects it at work, in fact, i just got a promo this spring and a new office. I'm thinking about adding lines to my diet at the office. But, i'm worried that after doing lines, i've always have a running nose - which may give it away.

Any suggestions?
