bicyclejunk
So i got some flab, not a lot but a little...got some man boobs forming, a little beer belly happening. I'm about 5'9, 177 lbs i'm about 10-13 lbs overweight and i'm not toned by any means right now. I used to be, but i got lazy over the last year and gained a lot:p Anyway, i have two weeks before a trip to hawaii, I don't expect to lose 10 pounds, but what can i do to get on the right track, so that i might look a "little" bit better? I plan to continue exercising afterwards as well... I don't expect any miracles, but i know i could make some sort of dent on my body in 2 weeks... Any ideas?
JS17
You could make a small dent in 2 weeks. It sounds like you know what you're capable of but just want us to tell you that you can be super buff in 2 weeks. Dedicate the two weeks to going to the gym and lifting and you can tone up a bit. Try to go every day for the two weeks. Generally you shouldn't go for 7 days a week but there isn't much harm in doing it for a short period of time. Your body can rest once you get to HAWAII (I'm so jealous:p )
Author bicyclejunk
no, i'm not looking for anyone to write up a work out plan for me or anything like that... I'm just thinking running and eating rice cakes, but you're saying weights. See that helps me out right there. I didn't even think about weights or pumping iron. I was just thinking about running, dieting and burning fat. that does make sense though, i should use some weights. Thanks
THX2000
Best Advice I have is do not starve yourself! Drink at least a gallon of water over the course of the day and eat frequent, small meals that are healthy and low in calories. You won't accomplish much by weight training in 2 weeks but you may be able to take some weight off by doing moderate to high intensity interval training for say 30 minutes a day for the next 2 weeks. Not the best plan in my humble opinion but if that's all the time ya have then that is what I would do.
Tangerina
yah, especially for fast results keep up that weight training, because it will help you burn tons of calories... the more muscle you develop the more you burn at rest. keep up the aerobic as well, they are equally important... hmmm... I agree on the small frequent meals and not starving thing.... are there some foods that are possibly better than others for losing that elusive "water weight?" that might help you look thinner teporarily... I dunno... drinking water is also great advice...
jennjennd25
Try eating alot of grilled/baked chicken and fish and steamed veggies, that way, you are still getting nutrients, but also getting the muscle-building protein, and you are not starving yourself. I started the South Beach Diet a couple of years ago and ate nothing but stuff like chicken, veggies, steak, almonds and cheeses, and in 1 1/2 weeks, I lost 12 pounds. I couldn't stick without it because I'm a bread and sweets fanatic, but was amazed at how much weight I lost. I was only a size 5 when I started the diet, and it's harder for smaller people to lose that much weight that easily. It's not something that you can or should do as a long term fix, but for a short 2 weeks, it's ok, and you WILL see results, especially in your stomach after the first 3 - 4 days. You also need to workout for the best results. I suggest doing a run-walk combo 3 days a week, at least for 20 minutes. Then, on the alternate days, pump some iron, and you will most definitely see results before the big trip!!! This is what I'm doing, and I'm going to Cozumel in 6 weeks, have lost alot of weight, and am down to a size 2 and more toned than I have ever been. - Jenni
RottenGazebo
Well actually you could do a lot (unsafe). When UFC had a thing to find a fighter, this one guy had to lose 20 pounds IN A SINGLE NIGHT.
