lemonicetea
Am I in the wrong that I don’t like to talk about politics at work? I have several coworkers who are always ranting and raving about the election. [ ] I was always raised with the idea that you shouldn’t talk politics with strangers, so a lot of this was off putting to me. I also really hate the vilification of a political party. [ ] With that being said, I only have a few close friends and family members I would discuss these topics with. Sorry for the kind of rant-ish nature of this post. basil67
Nope, you're not in the wrong. I would probably deal with the issue by keeping my head down and using phrases such as "haha, I'm staying out of this".
glows
I agree with you OP and I would do as Basil suggests. I usually let the person finish and say something neutral and affirmative to let them know I’m acknowledging their comment but I don’t openly agree or disagree with what they’ve said.
Leihla_B
I agree. Earbuds work wonders, and you can listen to anything you want.
