scbrandon
Well, today I have my first real date since my finance and I split last summer. It feels a bit bittersweet but also feels like the right time. The woman I am going out with is familiar with my situation as she knew both of us prior. There is a bit of an age difference (I am 28, she is 44) but we have quite a bit in common. I am looking forward to it and excited, and a bit scared lol, to re-enter the dating scene again after being with my ex for so long. Wish me luck! And any advice or suggestions are welcomed! Gaeta
I think that is perfect as your first experience back into dating! Women in their 40s know what they want, they're less dramatic, they're not looking for a provider or having babies, they got their own thing going. Be yourself, don't try to impress her! I am looking forward to your update. One of my daughter's best friend met his girlfriend he was 28 she was in her 40s, they've been together 10-11 years now.

And I agree, the vibe is much different, much more authentic and transparent which I really like about her. Thank you for the encouragement!!
Alvi
Whatever you, please don't talk about your ex. I had countless dates where guys would yap non-stop about their exes. No bashing your ex, not talking about good things about your ex. In other words, say nothing about your ex. Say that the two of you were not compatible if the subject of your ex comes up and leave it at that. Other than that, good luck and enjoy your date! 3

I had no intention of that but a very good reminder nonetheless, thank you!!
