Decided to go to a 'dating event' and I'm nervous.

Recommended Posts

So, I'm going to try this "Singles Happy Hour" event in my city. Sounds like it's a mixer type thing and I've never been to one and it's being hosted by "Jigsaw Dating" which I've never heard of but I'm willing to try whatever at this point. I've read a few reviews about the event with some mixed results it seems like. My main thing is, im kind of nervous to go even though I want to. Keeping everything fully honest, im a 35 year old male and im not really the greatest looking guy even though I wouldnt say im "ugly" and it makes me a bit nervous to talk to a a lady i might find drop dead gorgeous. How should I approach the event and is it honestly even worth going? Full disclosure, I am NOT just looking to get laid, I'm too grown to play around at this point.

Any help from anyone who's done this or something like it is appreciated.

This is a mixer event, not a 'hone in on the only drop dead gorgeous women in the room event'.   Just go and be sociable with everyone.  If someone's annoying, find a tactful excuse to get away

Not sure why you are going if cold approach so daunting to you. Why not invite a single coworker, friend or family member to hang out and be each others wing man.

Never really been into these dating events. I imagine the majority of them just end up being situations where the gals mainly talk to the gals and the guys mainly talk to the guys with both sides uncomfortable to approach the other.
