It is normal to feel sad & hurt after a break-up.

Depression does frequently happen in the wake of a loss, whether a break-up, divorce, or death.

Suicidal feelings are very serious, though. If you aren't already doing so, counseling would be in order, as well as a medical consultation to determine whether you are suffering from clinical depression.

Help is available, so there is no reason to continue living with depression.

inked1, I can speak as someone who's been there, in exactly - and I mean EXACTLY - the same place you are now.

If you're suicidal, call a crisis line. Now. Not tomorrow. Not later today. Not in 5 minutes. Immediately. Turn off the damn computer and call right freakin' now. They can help steer you in the right direction.

Like Scott S said, you do not have to live like this. Trust me, I know from bitter personal experience.

Hi. I agree that you should find help, too. It's not weak to need help. I was pretty devastated by my first divorce, but I got over it. Now I look back and wish I hadn't wasted so much time crying and drinking over a guy who didn't love me anyway. They say your mind can only concentrate on one thing at a time. Maybe if you find yourself thinking about your ex, you should change your thoughts to something else.
