Jayelle
Hi, I'm new here. My boyfriend of seven months and I have started talking about marriage. This is really exciting for me because I'm looking forward to having him as my husband. I'm 23 and he is 26. Our relationship is wonderful and if things keep going well, I'm pretty sure we'll be engaged by the end of the year. For all of you who are already engaged or married, please tell me about your proposal....where you were, what was said, how you felt... I'm really curious. Thanks!
sophia34
He proposed two days before last Thanksgiving--we've been dating eight years. We were both sitting on the couch discussing purchasing a house together--which is what I had thought we were going to do to "try it out" BEFORE getting engaged! I wasn't ready. Then, he says, "But before we buy a house there's something we need to take care of." Then he pulls out the ring and asks "Will you marry me?" I was shocked. I said yes, because I didn't know what else to say, although I wasn't that happy. I'm not the marrying type. I was a wreck during Thanksgiving and I'm still trying to get used to the idea. I'm sure you'll get much happier responses after this one!
bab
We got engaged in May of 2005. He took me to a ballet, and let me out while he parked the car. When he walked up he had me sit on the edge of the fountain, got down on one knee and said, "I love you very much and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" I was shaking. I of course said yes, and he put the ring on my finger. The ballet was one of the most beautiful I've every seen. It was as if the dancers were dancing out the joy of my heart. I had the tickets and front of the program framed.
