past relationships and distance..what a great combination

Hey! Ok so I like this guy but he lives 2 hours away. I used to live in sc where he lives so I know him and we got along really well.

 

He just got out of a relationship where the girl cheated on him alot so he's hurt. We're not dating because of the distance. I'm not sure but there might be reprecussions from his past relationship. He might be using the distance as an excuse. Or he just wants to date other girls. See that's the problem I just don't know. I really like him. Alot. But it's almost like it's a lost cause ya know? I know for sure that he likes me but I just don't know. It seems like all this "i like you, that's great b/c i like you too stuff" could go on forever and leave me no where.

 

This whole thing was so random but it almost venting. Advice is welcome. I have more on this but this is all for now.

 

Oh and I'm afraid of being the rebound girl because he says he really loved her...being cheated on just doesn't make feelings go away does it?

 

I keep just telling myself to distance myself but talking to him just makes me so happy that it's proved to be quite difficult.

I think the best thing to do for now is to step back for a moment and see what happens. Everybody rebounds after a relationship, even when cheated on, because its hard to go from a relationship to being on your own. I'm not saying lose contact (of course not!) just be there to support him and time will tell. If you jump in now, you could end up losing a friend, and I assume you don't want that!

 

It's hard to give advice on this because every LDR is unique and only you know the whole situation. Play it cool, try not to get to worked up about it! And if it all goes wrong, remember there are plenty of guys that live a hell of a lot closer...

IYou can only ever gauge these things with reference to your own friends, relatives and acquaintances...but I'm pretty sure all the males I know would totally cringe if their ex left song lyrics (especially those ones) on any sort of public webspace thing.

Stay chilled. She's cheated on him repeatedly and now she's making an arse of both of them on his myspace thing. If he's got a grain of sense, dignity and judgement then he'll boot her out of his life without further ado.
