3questions
my family is too fu**en nice. to the point where it is already holding resentment over these years of being raised... my brother and i would have these senses of even wanting to be mean to eachother, but it IS THAT awkward! what in the hell can we do? my parents are supposed to breed us, into strong take no crap from anyone but they are nice too. the only anger they got is when there stressed out from being to nice. to think that it is over, i am here typing about it asking for help? And what wonders does being nice does to me, anger, confused with my self-image, seeing how media tells me that it is "OK" yet probably the best thing to do for a relationship. this is like a symptom, and people are getting easily stressed from it from my point of view. i need convincing, what would YOU tell me? amerikajin
I'm not really sure what you're asking for here, and why you're even asking for input in the first place - there's absolutely nothing wrong with being nice at all. You just have to realize that there is a time to be nice, and there are those few rare occasions when you have to defend yourself. Maybe you're asking us to tell us when you should decide to 'defend' yourself, and what you should do. We can't answer that. If you've got real anger issues, go to a gym and work it out of yourself, or if that doesn't wor, go to a therapist. I wish I could be of more help, but that's about all I can say at the moment. whichwayisup
Are you asking permission to stand up for yourself? To disagree with what your parents tell you how to act and be a certain way? It's OK to disagree, it's fine to get angry too, but if you're asking if it's alright to purposely pick fights or just be mean to your brother without a good reason, then that isn't cool. Please if you can, explain more what you're asking us? Not too sure, but I'd like to help.
