Anyone else here dating a shorter guy?

There's absolutely no correlation between a man's height and package size. Nor is there any correlation between a woman's height and her, uh, holy of holies.

I'm curious about something, brightskies. Why the angst about height? Why should it matter one way or another?

I am only 5'2, so I've always wanted to date taller guys. However, my most fulfilling relationships have been with shorter guys -- barely taller than me.

I can attest that great things come in small packages -- and there is definitely not a correlation between height and appendage size.

I find this an interesting question from a man who is constantly writing about how overweight women are out of the question for himself. :p

KC-

I will defend Slub here as i do believe he is upfront in his opinions and preferences. That alone makes life easier for anyone.

We all have ideas about what we consider more attractive features in a mate; it is just a matter of whether or not a person admits to it honestly.

I think it is more admirable to have the honesty right up front.

I have the same issue...I am 5'7 and my guy is 5'6 also. It was funny when we started going out because before him, I was with a guy that was 6'1 and was able to wear whatever shoes I wanted! After I began to date him, I became self-conscious about wearing shoes like that and only wore sneakers (I also looked forward to summer so I could wear flip flops!)

I was so happy when "kitten heels" became fashionable! It's a lot easier now to find shoes and boots to wear around him!

While it did bother me, I just couldn't get over how hot he was! He still is, and he's very masculine. He has great arms, too! He may be short, but he is gorgeous and still gets hit on by other girls!

My point is that while the height factor may bother you, look at the other physical things you are attracted to. You already know you are attracted to his personality, but are you attracted to anything about him physically?

... but at the end of the day if he treats you right and has that somethin' somethin', who cares? :bunny:

Right on. I'm pretty optimistic that he's got that somethin' somethin'. And he does treat me well. I remember all the drama I used to deal with and this is definitely a welcome change.

Same here! I was used to dating guys a lot taller so this was a big change for me. I still wear heels but ML says it's doesn't bother him, as long as I'm comfortable. I like that he's confident enough not to care if I look taller.

He's definitely attractive in every other sense, which is why I'm still dating him. And he is pretty darn hot, physically. Other girls check him out a lot. :D

hey..well there is this guy i like and he's only a couple of inches shorter than I am. It was kind of a turn-off at first but then I started getting used to it. I gotta admit I do subconsciously go for flats or sneakers when going out to see him. We have been seeing each other casually lately but I was wondering if things do go further (which am guessing they would because am really falling for the guy!) that it might feel weird if my date is shorter than I am?! am i just being silly ?!!

Hi Whoever,

If you're used to dating guys taller than you, as I was, then it takes some getting used to. The guy I'm dating is 2 inches shorter than me (both barefoot) but I still wear heels and he doesn't mind. If you're happy with him, and start to develop genuine feelings for him, the height difference eventually matters less and less. Looking back, I'm so glad I didn't dismiss him because of his height -- I would've really missed out.

I started dating a guy who is about 1/2 inch shorter than me about a month ago. When i first found out he was short, I was a little sad (we met online so my first impression was via text) because I'm definitely one to go for the taller men. I decided to meet him in person anyway, and I'm so very glad I did. So far, all has been good between us. He's a great person. Very smart, put together, etc. The last man i dated was 5 11 but what did it matter when he was 36, lived with his parents, and got fired from his job.. lol

Anyway, go for it with the shorter man. They are awesome :-)

Jennifer
