d'Arthez
Oh, just FYI, she DID know it was my bday...She even said that she told a friend of hers while they were out. She just completely forgot. Trust me, it won't ever happen again. Glad that all turned out to be alright. And remember, next year you will be 35. And the year after that: 35. It must be confusing her
bab
Glad it worked out for you WWIU! Happy belated birthday! I am sorry, I disagree. Immediate family is much more than a date on a calendar. What about your hubby (assuming you are married) would the "just a date on the calendar" fly with you if he forgot your birthday or anniversary? Christmas is a date on the calendar, so are a zillion others. Dates are put on calendars to remember! And when one f***s up, they call and apologize and make it right! I'm not married, but my fiance and I have an agreement, where I remind him of my birthday/our anniversary/ other important dates at least 2 weeks in advance, and then give him warning a couple more times in the next 2 weeks. If I didn't, I doubt he would remember, not 'cause he doesn't love me, but he just doesn't have a mind for dates. Neither does my Dad, he forgot my birthday this year for a whole week, and he never sends cards anyway. WWIU's mom remembered hers and planned a brunch for her a week in advance. How is that forgetting??? That's what I meant about it just being a date, she did actually remember, just not on the very day that the calendar date said (although in fact WWIU confirmed that she did remember, just forgot to call). Author whichwayisup
My hubby remembers my bday by using a hockey player's sweater number. (Darryl Sittler or Frank Mahovlich.) He does know it's in January though! Thanks D'A! Yup, 35 forever! And thanks Bab. I like that, the reminder.
