loveheart59
I was talking to someone the other day and they proclaimed "every girl looks better with make up". I used to be one of these make-up queens who wouldnt even take out the garbage without a rummage through my cosmetics but have slowly weaned myself off it (the heavy foundation). I come accross quite a few men who dont like all over make up for everyday use but some women are so adamant that they will look ugly without it. I pity people who go out with a huge amount because I think it is an genuine addiction. Or maybe Ive got it wrong and I am going around looking like a rough bears arse right now! ThatOneGuy
Well, personally i've never cared about Make-up and Im a man.
barfool
I think that make-up can enhance your naturally good looking features, so yes it does make you look better. On the other hand it can make someone look worse if they wear too much or if it is not skillfully applied. I prefer, when I do wear make-up, to use the most on my eyes because they are my best feature, a neutral color on my lips and some powder to cut down shine. That's it. Author loveheart59
Yeh I think that looks nice, a bit of lipgloss and mascara can do wonders but Im on about the full Pammy anderson foundation..
Rosalind
Do women look better with make-up? I think most women look better with a touch of make-up.....remember the idea is to enhance what you've got. Confession - I rarely go out in public without my lipstick
ThatOneGuy
O_O! OH! Thanks for remindming me. I usually don't care about make-up, but I CAN'T STAND LIPSTICK! Blah, it gets everywhere. It tastes bad, it's overall really nasty. Can't take it. Other then that, it's all for moot.
cal gal
Don't do a whole lot of makeup. Mascara and lipstick make me feel awesome. I wouldn't want to wake up in the morning not feeling like I look like "myself". Love the natural beauty look on any gal.

barfool
Im on about the full Pammy anderson foundation.. I think that much make up looks fine for photos but in real life it is scary. Too mask-like. I want to know I'm talking to a real person and not a manequin.
barfool
The only reason I wear lipstick is because otherwise my lips look too pale. When I've been sucking on something (get your mind out of the gutter) they get nice and red. I wish there were someway to make them do that all of the time.
ThatOneGuy
Well, I happen to have full, attractive lips that look marvelous with lipstick...so there Well, there is also like this... rubbery feeling you get when you kiss someone with lipstick on. I mean, it's not all wet and smacky it's like... Okey it's hard to describe. But I can't stand that feeling, it's un-natural. And I didn't say that girls didn't look good wearing it, Im saying that the con's outweigh the pro's. I mean, Im sure your probably a drop dead knockout with it on, but still... Not a lot of men really notice anything about pale lips. I mean, have you ever heard a guy say "Yeah, she had a nice rack, and a great ass, but man I just can't stand those pale lips!" Oh well. Rosalind
Well, there is also like this... rubbery feeling you get when you kiss someone with lipstick on. ... Rubbery feeling??? I've never kissed anyone wearing lipstick, so I wouldn't know.... One time a guy I was seeing, looked at the the rim of his Starbucks coffee cup, and it had lipstick on it. He said "Hey, I think I'm wearing lipstick!" And he did have a little left-over kiss on him. We had a good chuckle ....
ThatOneGuy
The feeling is hard to describe, but the texture is unsettling. Some guys really don't care, but personally I just can't stand it. Oh, and this one girlfriend I had used to just GOB on the lip-gloss. Sticky lips ensued! Blah!!! And it did NOT taste like watermellon!
jerbear
Personally I do not care regarding makeup, most of the women I know do not put to much. They don't get that caked on look. Make up can enhance ones apperances. Also when taking photographs of any kind, some makeup actually makes it better on film or screen but look bad in person.
BlahBlahQueen
Heavy, theatrical makeup only looks good for pictures or evening. For daily use, just stick to the basics and apply with a light, careful touch, and you'll never go wrong. Yes, most women do look better with it, but there's a delicate balance. Of course, if you have a severe skin problem like acne scarring, splotchy birthmarks or something, you try to cover up as best you can, but that's the exception. I never met a guy who was attracted to the drag-queen look.
Art_Critic
I never met a guy who was attracted to the drag-queen look. Pamala Anderson looks like a drag queen the way she wears her makeup.. well that and the plastic surgery. I like a woman with either none or light makeup.. but heavy is out.. witabix
Ladies, just to counter the anti lipstick guys... I love kissing a girl with lipstick on, I like the feel, and the taste. I get pissed off when I have to buy the paper or shop on a sunday morning when the excuse is "I have to do my face!" All women are beautiful, end of story. A little make up is cool. A lot of make up can be garish. But still......... Female + makeup = gorgeous. Female - makeup = gorgeous. Now men and makeup, thats a different story!!
jen_jen_heartbroken
Makeup when skillfully applied is supposed to enhance your appearance, and not look like you're wearing much at all. Every woman should stick to natural colors to achieve a fresh look....think Bobby Brown cosmetics. No blue, purple, pink eyeshadow. And a lot of women no matter how little makeup they wear, they forget to blend it...so it looks blotchy or streaky. There's nothing worse than unblended eyeliner. Ick. Using a lip tint with a tiny bit of lip moisturizer is great, because it's kissable and lasts longer than lipstick or lip gloss.
Sand&Water
I know what you mean ThatOneGuy. I really don't know how guys feel about having to feel and taste that rubbery lipstick, but I certainly can't stand wearing lipstick. Its very much annoying; I feel awkward when I do try wearing some during very rare occasions. My lips look much better naturally with a touch of lipgloss. Any girl that wears too much make-up is just a person you has too too much time on their hands. First you have to be able to apply it and then once in awhile do touch-ups and whatnot. Is it really worth the effort!?? Make-up is supposed to make you look natural and presentable, not unrealistically Barbie Doll face.
Curmudgeon
you can't tell for sure they're wearing it (except for lipstick). Artfully applied makeup enhances rather than masks.
Candied-Heart
I get pissed off when I have to buy the paper or shop on a sunday morning when the excuse is "I have to do my face!" Yeah, that's way too obsessive. That must interfere with their lives a LOT! How do they swim at the beach or go waterskiing? Or go camping or sweat it all out at the gym? I think some girls have a great 'natural' or minimal look and others have an 'I-can-tell-you're-wearing-makeup-and-it-looks-awesome' face. Then there's the inbetweeners. I think everyone looks good depending on how they wear it. I wear tint, some creme blush, neutral gloss and keep my eyes natural [beige and fluffy mascara] during the day, then in the evening I wear a darker colour on the eyes with some more dramatic liner etc. Nothing worse than a girl who can't figure out her proper foundation shade, the right way to apply eyeliner or who DOESN'T BLEND eyeshadow. Suicide.
LawGirl
I am natural girl myself. Have only worn makeup maybe three times in 25 years. (I used to wear it when I was in my teens). And I there are several reasons why I prefer this choice: 1. I hate taking the stuff off. 2. I can be ready to go out the door in 15 minutes - including shower - If needed. 3. I wear glasses and can't see without them to put the makeup on. I bought myself some crazy kick-ass framed glasses. They are a hot hot orange red with a blue purple backing. And I have my hair coloured to match. Fiery red tones with blacky purple swaths. (Looks much better than it sounds - I get alot of compliments on my hair). So I have all the colour going on that I need.

Or go camping or sweat it all out at the gym? The one I'm thinking of used to get up an hour early, just to do makeup, then complain her days were too long! As for swimming etc, forget it. Couldn't have messed up makeup! She was cool, but a little too self conscious about the makeup thing. She always looked beautiful, but would not go out of the house without makeup and a hair wash, not for anything, and I mean anything. Not even across the square to buy a paper, a 2 minute trip! Used to bug me a little, but I thought nevermind, its her bugbear, not mine.
Rosalind
Pamala Anderson looks like a drag queen the way she wears her makeup.. actually I think Pamela Anderson looks very good, and meets Hollywood standards.... But for us regular gals that studio make-up just isn't practical.
