did i miss my chance?

Recommended Posts

I've had a massive crush on one of the customers who comes into where I work for AGES now. I can't really read if he likes me or not or whether he's just being friendly. Whenever he walks past the shop he always waves at me. Recently whenever he sees me he always says "hello trouble".

I finally plucked up the courage to ask him out in a safe way by saying he should come round to my friends' house some night. He knows one of my friends vaguely as the went to school with each other. He was kind of drunk at the time though and said that he would like to some night. But I wasn't sure if he took it in or not.

Anyway, a few nights later he came in again and I was trying to be cheeky/flirting with him (mainly asking him how his arse was because he had cracked his coccyx). I felt that he was being flirty back and the conversation was flowing nicely. Then he said "are you doing anything tomorrow night?" I didn't really have my 10 seconds to engage my brain before talking and said that I was working a 12 hour day. What I should have said was "I'm working until 10pm but free after that".

I'm not sure if it was just making conversation or if he was asking me out. I'm just not sure if he likes me or not. He didn't ask whatelse I was up to during the week and then we went off on a tangent about other stuff.

I can not stress how much i like him... but have i missed my chance? I've not seen him since it happened (last wednesday). What should I do when I see him next? is there any point doing anything or have i blown him out completely? I'm not at work until wednesday now... i need to strategise! any help/opinion/advice would be very appreciated!

Yes, he was asking you out - you just can't tell because you're nervous. Ask him out. Nothing gets a man more interested than knowing that you're interested.

no you didnt miss your chance, but i donno if the guy will ask you out again, maybe he will maybe he wont, pending on how he reacted to your response.

i would have asked you when you were free so that i could take you somewhere had you given me the same response that you gave him about your 12 hour workday.

but imo to be safe and secure, just ask him for his number or just give him yours.

yes i think he likes you, i felt it when you said he calls you "trouble"

Thank you both for your input. The whole "trouble" thing has had me confused. Is it just friendliness or is it flirtiness... but glad you think it's a good sign.

unfortunately no sign of him tonight at work... just as well because I probably psyched myself up too much! just hope haven't scared him off for good!
