Guest
Find out the IP address of a person who is posting messageges? THanks
Tony T
Put your cursor, or arrow, directly over the message content. Right click. Go down and left click on "view source." You'll see a lot of data but scroll slightly more than half way down until you see REMOTE HOST: and REMOTE ADDR: and some numbers afterwards. For instance, in your post above the information presented is: REMOTE_HOST: 12.88.171.184; REMOTE_ADDR: 12.88.171.184-- It looks just like that. Those numbers identify your computer's location to the Internet world. This is the information that law enforcement agencies use to identify people who spread viruses, try to pick up children, or otherwise perform criminal acts on the Internet using their computer. It's also how the people at LoveShack discover fruitcakes who post lame questions repeatedly using different nicknames from the same computer. I hope this helps you. Have fun!!!
