FRUSTRATED Posted September 6, 2001 Share Posted September 6, 2001 I've been searching for the international white pages (people finder) for Mexica and Guatemala for the past half hour and I am ready to tear out the hair of the person (people) who made up these misleading web-sites that lead to nowhere!! I DONT WANT The "damn" F-c-n" yellow pages!! I want the white ones, damn it all!! Why don't the people finders work like they do for our country?? Why are PAGINAS AMARILLAS (yellow pages) considered more important to list than the white ones? I feel insulted as if these countries think we only want to do business with them and nothing more. As if we have all the "dinero" and they are cheating us out by not providing a competent on-line white pages directory! Can someone give help me out by giving me a website (if it exists) that works for finding address and numbers of people in Mexico and Guatemala??? I don't want to pay the operater three fifty just to look for me. if she doesn't find the number I'll still be charged for it! Isn't that ridiculous? I suggest you use the Yellow Pages to find a church, school, newspaper office, law enforcement agency, or social agency in the countries you need and make contact with someone who will be happy to look up a few numbers for you. It would certainly be lots cheaper doing that than calling information. I do it that way all the time. Church offices are usually very happy to look up numbers if you don't give them too many. However, I caution you that many Mexicans don't stay at the same number very long. That may be why there are no white pages on the Internet. Link to post Share on other sites
sparkle Posted September 7, 2001 Share Posted September 7, 2001 I suggest you take some anger management courses and a couple courses that might teach you about cultural and country differences and how things are run in different countries. Just because we have this type of information available in our country does not mean that it is or "should" be available in other countries. Nor does it mean that the white pages "should" be accessible for everyone free of charge, although it would be nice of course. Many things we take for granted here are not offered in other places. Anyhow, if this person/phone # is SO important to you that it's making you so upset, what's the big deal about paying $3.50 for it??? Jeeeeeeeez.....
