Weird to Ask something if they like you?

Hello, Hello,

 

I was wondering if it was okay to ask the person you're dating if they like you?

 

For the past few years, I've been involved in relationships where I've been told many things, like "I'm crazy about you; you're my kindred spirit; yaddi-ya", so I'm at the point where I think certain statements have their own agenda (if ya know what I mean ), and not neccessarily the truth.

 

I started dating someone I met on-line about a month and a half ago...we have alot in common, he's sweet to me, he's mentions me to his mom and friends...so far so good. But, it's at the point now where I initiate phonecalls and plans. And yes, he returns them, he carries through plans even when he's dog-tired.

 

Though, he still checks his on-line profile daily, and claims to be a last minute kind of planner kinda guy. Am I the one analyzing too much? Last night, I asked him if I call too much which is about every two or three days, just to gage his reaction, and fish around a bit, but he just laughed and said "no"

 

But I'm no mind-reader...is it weird to ask if he likes me? My instincts are pretty shot these days. Or should I just leave it to the its too soon to spill all deal or let things proceed naturally? I just don't wanna keep making an effort if he's not interested.
