noclobber
Do you guys believe in Luck? As in good luck/bad luck.. Do you consider yourself lucky? I guess I am very unlucky. I think I feel this way based on the events that has happened in my life so far. According to me there is only so much you can do and finally luck determines whether you are actually going to get the thing that you want. I always feel that my bad luck ruins me from getting what I want from life. Major things in life like job, love, etc is clearly and completely out of your control. You can have a great education and good skills and want the job so badly but what if the company doesn't see you as a good fit? Same goes to love. You can be a great guy/gal and like someone so much but what if they don't reciprocate your feelings for some reason? These things make me feel that we are powerless in life. Guest
Your power is in how you choose to deal with issues. When disappointed, you can decide the world is against you and nothing good will ever happen, or you can decide that whatever happened is probably for the best and something better is on its way. Life is much more fun if you pick door #2.
jerbear
Luck can come in many different forms. Monte Carlo, Las Vegas, etc... Seriously, luck, timing, and in some form of destiny do exist. You meet certain people for certain reasons. Sometimes the timing is off, you might not be ready for certain things; either early or late. Instead of counting solely on luck you can sometimes stack the deck, make yourself better, and count cards. Without getting to philosophy, it could be karma, it could be predestiny and trying to change it only causes it to change. Education and skills help but it is not the whole picture. Sometimes it is political behind the scenes. You might be in a dry spell.
Author noclobber
I really hate the concept of Destiny and Karma... bullshyt! One of the primary reasons that I gave up on God is b'cos of stupid things like destiny... Which is more powerful, God or Destiny? As much as I want to console myself by telling that I got to have a good attitude and respond properly to what happens, it just burns me when my friends or other people get the same thing without any effort. It's like almost its handed over to them on a silver plate. And I know that they are not even very good people. That's karma failing right there.. The concept of Karma is total bull. Just b'cos you do good things you cannot expect good things to happen to you! There is absolutely no necessity.
jerbear
Some are born with it and some learn to use and improve what they have. There are those that are just born with it, silver spoon, silver plate, and still ditzy. There are those that do everything and get dittly squat. I have a friend that I call him the chick magnet, he gets the women before me and his friend beats him in that. Oh well... initially it felt bad, depressed, etc... but I deal with it and understand that life is not fair at times.
monkey00
The concept of Karma is total bull. Just b'cos you do good things you cannot expect good things to happen to you! There is absolutely no necessity. personally, im a firm believer of karma. things you do early on, you may not foresee it's consequences or rewards. And often times that not, karma does come around knockin, in my experience anyway. But hey, nobody said life was ever fair. there are 2 opposites, the pessimist and the optimist & the realist in the middle. the pessimist believes his fate is predestined and has no control, he takes no action. The optimist firmly believes he has control over his life and takes action to quickly resolve issues. "You think therefore you are", Ever heard of the self-proclaiming prophecy? Well here it is, up in your face!! --in the end it depends on your outlook on life, whether or not you can recover from past failures and solve problems is the direction you walk in life. oh, and btw i dont believe in luck. i believe in the self-proclaiming prophecy. ddnnee
karma is just commonsense. if you do good now (and someone notices it), then in the future, they will do good for you. example for me: I use to help out my friends a lot (a good deed) but they did not help me at the time. Other friends saw it and helped me out recently. Yea, luck is real too. my luck is bad because i haven't won the lottery!

jesusfist
yeh i'm lucky, just the little things like passing exams or guessing something, finding a park at the shopping on a busy day in 2 seconds while other people drive around for ages. I'm guessing its karma, i'm your average nice guy that gets treated like crap and doesnt dish out any whoop ass lol.
