Guest
Well, Hi, you can call me Rhapsody, and I'm currently 17 years old (I turn 18 in August). I'm graduating this June, and I haven't quite decided on a college yet, but out of the 3 I'm looking at, they're all out of state. By a lot. I've been seeing a guy for about 9 months, and we're in love and really get along well (Just like every other happy couple =P). My dilemma: I don't want a long distance relationship with my boyfriend, but my mom won't help me pay for college if we move in together. There's a small chance I can change her mind, but currently that's how it stands. I will be spending a fortune on tuition and housing because the schools I'm looking at cost $25,000 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, $13,000 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and $6,000 at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. That's just tuition, and all the cities are expensive. (I'll probably either go to UH and transfer to SAIC or just go to UARTS) My boyfriend offered to move with me last July when we became more than friends. He's currently 18, graduated last year, and not in school. We've both been looking forward to seeing more of each other...I'm afraid if I live in a dormitory though, that I won't see very much of him. I also worry about where he would live if we didn't share a place, because it would be a new city and he doesn't have very much money. What should I do? My mom and school counselor want me to live in a dorm, and I agree that definitely seems like a great experience, but I want to be able to spend ample time with my boyfriend. All contructive comments are welcome and appreciated.
