does taking phentermine have any affects on birth control??

i have been looking everywhere to find information on Phentermine, which is a diet pill i am taking. I am also on birth control ( its orthro cept) i was wondering if anyone had any information on if taking phentermine could possibly have an affect on my birth control. im afraid im having symptoms of pregnancy and i am faithful with taking my birth control pills. i am aware that you can stilll get pregnant on birth control but it has worked so far. i have just started taking phentermine for about 3 months now. if anyone could please help me with some info it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I would talk to your doctor. He would know best. I really think that there are better ways of losing weight than phentermine. It sparks up your central nervous system and causes rapid heart rate, and raised blood pressure. Neither of those things are good! Talk to your doctor about alternatives that don't screw with your body like a healthier diet and regular exercise. Drugs are not the answer to everything! I havn't heard of it affecting hormone balance at all, but if you are worried than use a condom until you can get the green light from your doctor.
