Curmudgeon
...after all. I think my wife gets the Wife of the Year award. After a lot of talk, she's convinced me to cancel almost half a million dollar's worth of life, accident and long-term disability insurances for which she was the beneficiary (life and accident). It's insurance I took out during my divorce to ensure that child support would be there for my daughters if anything happened to me. As they became adults, my wife became the sole beneficiary. At a cost of close to $300 a month, she decided that we have more than enough in savings, her IRA, my 401K and each of our retirement accounts with my/our employer to provide everything either of us would ever need if the other died. As usual, she was right. All that leaves is an insurance policy provided by my employer, and smaller ones, at no cost to us, through our credit union and an association we belong to which would be more than enough to pay off all bills and plant either of us. This has to be a first -- a wife saying getting rid of a potential windfall for her if her husband meets an untimely demise.
KnowHowLoveFeels
Did you ask her to cancel her life insurance as well?
johan
She could just be removing the most obvious motive. Why make it easy for the detectives? She's a clever one!

Author Curmudgeon
Could be that cleverness is a big part of why I married her in the first place.
