Hey girl! Glad to hear your father is doing well. Walking and eating (sausage) so soon after his surgery is great. I'm in your corner, otter.

And what's this crap I just read about people here not liking your style of posting. They can seriously go f*ck themselves if that's the case. Idiots.....

B_O, Can't believe I missed this whole thread. Didn't realize until I asked some one where you where. I missed you. Then today I came across your thread. Now tears streaming down my face.

First, I am so glad your dad is hanging in there. You are a good daughter.

Also, sorry you feel the need to pull away from LS. I love your writing style.

I hope you keep staying strong. Good luck and your dad is in my prayers.

Oh thanks you guys. I have been completely bummed but it's nice to see some love. I've been isolating myself. When I am in pain I push people away. So I have been needing this, thank you.

You know yourself well..

One day, there will be one who will not let you go so easily.......Its too easy to push away. Its much harder to surrender.....Easy is not your way Otter

Your delivery is quite unique, and I am uncertain why others wouldnt percieve this as such.....it is definately missed around here by me...

Let us know how things are with you, even if you are in pain...you need to have others be there for you

I'm bach! :D

I had a blast. I landed in Northern Germany, drove up through the netherlands, through belgium, across the length of france, down through the french riviera and the cote d'azur into the italian riviera and past Firenze (we know it as Florence) into the spectacular hill towns of tuscany and umbria and stayed in a house in Bagnoregio, which is a tuff cliff town built on what can only be described as a flat mountain, the city was built like into the mountain. There were etruscan caves right under the teeny restored medeival cottage I stayed in. It was built into the city walls, and I looked out over a valley where the cars looks like ants outside my window. I pantomimed conversations with locals who spoke no english and took a day trip to roma, the disneyland of italy. Long lines, hot, and expensive. I liked the little towns better.

I got lost in the alps because the highways were closed for the tour d'suisse, and got to see the bikers whizz by totally by accident. I got out of the car bitching, what the f*** is this traffic jam about. Ohhhh, ok. Insane bicyclists trying to induce heart attack by biking up the sides of mountains. I threw a snowball in the middle of june. Drove straight through switzerland on these crazy cobble stone one lane mountain passes that were crumbling off the mountain, and pulled over to let cows pass.

What an experience.

Dad's doing well. He got a chest infection and had to be hospitalized for a few days because his muscles aren't strong enough to cough up s*** yet, but he's OK right now.

My dogs ate two couches while I was gone and I have no furnuture in my living room any more, yet somehow it don't bother me none.

I missed ya.

Glad you're back!

I wish I could have seen the bike race. Tour de Suisse is a lead-up race for the Tour de France, and this year it was won on the last stage by the German guy (Jan Ullrich) who could never beat Lance Armstrong.

I started smoking again, though. God, I have never seen an entire culture so built on cigarette smoking. A european vacation is a smoker's paradise. I tried to stay disciplined but failed miserably. I mean, they even have smoker kiosks in the airports.

Welcome back!

So glad you went. Europe is fabulous. The summer we spent there was the highlight of my life and I'd love to get back. Experiencing any post-vacation blues?

Glad your Dad's doing ok. And couches are somewhat overrated. Now that you have no money, your decorating will have to get creative with milk crates, I guess. :D

Good to have you back.

Welcome Back B_O.

Your vacation sounds like a paradise.

I was across the Adriatic Sea from Italy in Bosnia 2x's (1995 and 1998). We drove the coast line for 3 hours in a bus.

It is the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen... I love that type of stuff.. Old Europe!!

And the old stone Castles are speachless looking over the sea, atop a cliff (mountain to me.)

It's good to hear you enjoyed yourself. It was definetly worth going. I'm glad you decieded too.

Don't let your renewal from your vacation leave you for awhile. Hold onto the euphoria as long as you can.

Good to have you back Otter...you have no idea who I am but I joined in April and have read some of your earlier posts -- good to hear your dad is doing better. :)

Heh, while you were gone, I actually quit smoking. It's been 32 days. Umm.. how come no one informed me you were leaving? I started wondering this mornign where you were, but then you know I don't pay much attention to things. You probably have about 15 joke emails in your inbox from me.

I'm glad you went, otter. You needed to do that.

I read the redneck ones and busted out laughing. I have seen almost all of the given examples IRL. It's good to be back in America

sweet your back.......WB, glad your dad is doing OK

I feel bad because I didn't respond to emails while I was gone. But I stopped at internet cafes to email my Dad and it took me a friggin hour to write one email because the keyboards are all different in France and Italy. Things you don't realize until you're typing at your normal pace and everything comes out with weird characters....:lmao:
