Outcast
I continue to surprise myself about how adaptable I am. I make do. I don't get in a lather if things get changed on me. I'm not saying I conform - LOL - but I adapt. This pertains particularly to my living/working space. I'm glad of it - it means that difficult circumstances don't disturb me to any great degree. Pyro
What is the latest improvement you are proud of, or/and what is the latest thing you have learned about yourself? Was it surprising to you? This may sound a bit arrogant or negative about myself but I realized that I am alot more intelligent than I have ever given myself credit for. Ever since I got this new job, I have received many compliments, including from my boss about how well I am learning and adapting to my new job. Comments like that really do make your day a little better.

Ever since I got this new job, I have received many compliments, including from my boss about how well I am learning and adapting to my new job. Comments like that really do make your day a little better. They are all lying to you! Just kidding! Actually it sounds quite modest and sad - you lived in this world for 20-something years not giving yourself enough credit for your intelligence. I think you're intelligent too, if my opinion means anything to you... I am happy for your discovery and congratulations on acquiring more confidence in yourself!

I think you're intelligent too, if my opinion means anything to you... I am happy for your discovery and congratulations on acquiring more confidence in yourself! Why thank you RP. I think that you are intelligent as well. Raising two boys and writing/singing/producing music is quite impressive. Probably for the first 18-19 years of my life, I did not have much faith in myself. I was constantly screwing up and I was being so hard on myself for everything. After reading one fantastic book and some life changing experiences, I gained the confidence that I was missing for so long. i guess that i don't give myself enough credit all the time, but I am getting better. jerbear
Aimed for undergrad Ivy in life; 10+ years later an graduate Ivy degree.More intelligent than I thought. My writing and creative writing has improved significantly.I do have great friends.I am very quick in detecting and fixing my own issues; self improvement. My people skills have improved significantlyEmotionally stronger than exI am able to let go.I am able to carry out my threats of those who think I'm bluffingI do notice and attract girls; didn't notice because of focus on ex.I know I am still "lame and a loser" by sending email to a girl. (Different person than above) #1 on the list: I have exceeded her (ex); as she said "you may one day exceed me"
Nubemeister
Ive learned that I hate my own failure and that I still resent myself for a couple of things...and maybe that I might just not be good enough for anything. Oh and I love Asagio Cheese Pretzels?(grins)
johan
I can overcome my ego. I am an outstanding leader and am admired by many of my colleagues, even the ones who refuse to show it.
johan
Actually I have learned to get over myself. And I actually am an ok leader and am confident in that position. Also I'm stronger and more sure of myself than I used to me. I'm periodically bummed out about my ex, losing her hasn't brought me to my knees like I thought it would. Walk
I learned: Not to allow other people's negative perspection of me stop me from achieving my goals. That there isn't always going to be someone else giving the support you need in life, but that it is inside you if you look deep enough. That if I'm arguing with my SO and I said "You don't listen to me", its defensive language, and only leads to more negativity in communication. That I'm not the great communicator I really thought I was. And I never realized how little I actually understood relationship communication until I took a class on it. Which also made me realize that my reactions to comments/jokes were normal, and understanding the emotions these comments provoke is a least a step closer to resolving the problem. a4a
I have come to appreciate the smaller things in life, watching the garden I plant come to full bloom. I have learned to carefully pick my REAL battles and really not take anything too serious. I have learned many years ago that what others think really does not matter, unless it happens to hinder my own personal happiness through their actions because of their opinions/beliefs. I have found that not taking a risk has zero reward. I have also learned that the folded laundry in the basket can just sit there overnight.
kitten chick
That there is a real reason why I am the way that I am. I'm learning to forgive myself for my mistakes and misfortunes in life. It's going slowly though. A little less than 2 years ago I learned how to open up. That was a huge achievement for me. I also learned to watch very carefully who I'm taking advice from. quankanne
Have you read "The Alchemist"? If not, you absolutely must! incredible book you've suggested, RP – one of the English teachers at the Catholic school here has it as part of her syllabus, and she said it's amazing to see her students discover the truths in it. Definitely a highly recommended read! the latest thing I have learned about myself? That because I've been so lackadaisical about resolving my marriage in the Church, I'm actually one of those people the Bible considers as being an adulterer. What a wake-up call that has been, I've never felt pure shame like that before! On the bright side, I'm more motivated to help my husband finish up paperwork for an annulment of his previous marriage, which the priest tells me they'll push through quickly since I work at the head office. I guess what's surprised me is that as dearly as I hold my faith, I was so blinded to the obvious ... i have learned how satifying it is to take a dump at work, on the clock  yeah, those high handicap toilets make a world of difference when you're doing your business
