Suggestions: Hobbies & Activities.

Recommended Posts

Hey all

I'm doing the 're-thinking' my life thing and how to move on. I'm 35 years old (going on 25!) but I'm the only individual in my circle who is single and without children. I was thinking about taking up new hobbies which involve meeting people. I like sports activities but I only tend to do road running (marathon on Sunday!)

What do you guys get up to in your spare time...?

Well, Chinook...

I have a few hobbies that I am about ready to start on.

#1. Would love to go to more auctions, but I would need to first buy a truck with a trailer. To carry the big stuff home.

#2. Would love to travel, but get lost too much when I drive. Need to buy one of those GPS things.

#3. Would love to go fishing with a boat. Need to buy a boat,...actually, a truck would be needed, too.

#4. Would love to go camping. But, need to buy a tent and all that stuff. (This one, I'm currently working on)

Dang. Hobbies are expensive!!!

I'll opt for planting a couple flowers outside later tonight, I guess.

If you want to meet girls, art classes. Seriously, there's usually a 4 to 1 ratio of girls to guys in those things. But if that's not your thing...

You can always volunteer. NPOs draw in a more caring crowd willing to give their time for the good of others. Try volunteering for animals or kids, something that you think holds merit to help.

Nothing like trolling the non profit sector for available mates :lmao:

Maybe that's not a good plan for me then, I'm a girl. ;)

hmm, actually I was thinking just about widening my social circle but yeah, didn't think of it like that. Only problem is, I'm a nurse and 'caring' folks ain't really my cup-of-tea (they're always whining about work!) ;)

I get lost in books; school and casual reading.

But you are looking to expand your social circle...

What about joining a running club since you already run? Or a softball league? Volleyball league? Take a class at your local university? Go on an Outward Bound excursion?

Join a bicycle club.......... usually full of men.

Actually, I was thinking about that. I do duathlons anyways so I'm always out cycling - plus it would improve my cycling as well as getting me to meet people.

Hmm. A serious consideration I think.

If you do that, you may as well break out and do Triathlons!

Greatest sport on Earth and you never have any free time ( Always busy ).

Ive met a heap of great people through the sport and recommend it to everyone.

Only down side is that it is kinda expensive.
