So, I decided to try this self tanner stuff out. Well, I only did a portion of my legs becuase I wanted to see what it would look like and it all had to dry. So, now It looks kinda tan but I haven't done the rest of my legs...

Anyways...

What I really want to do is take this stuff off of my legs. Is there anything that will take this tanner off of your skin?

Sandpaper oughta do it. ;)

I would think something alcohol-based perhaps, and get out the apricot scrub (or a washcloth).

Is there anything in the instructions that say how? Or do they have a website where you can find out?

I've thought about trying one of the new spray on tans, but I still remember the one and only time I tried a 'canned tan' and it was streaky and orange and no matter that I used gloves for most of the application - I had to take the gloves off to do the tops of my hands and ended up with dark orange palms!

Of course, this was back and the 60's and I'm sure things have changed since then. I do know that the one I used was permanent and it just had to wear off on its own! I dressed like such a lady for a long time after that - always wore white gloves and a skirt and stockings. People thought I was going through some weird phase!

This site is really great, there are even forums where you can go ask questions. This is where I learned the hydrogen peroxide trick.

I like Neutrogena spray on tanner. It doesn't have a really strong smell, and it's easy to apply. The medium is really light, so if you try it and make mistakes they aren't very obvious.

Lots of showering will do it. You can use a sponge too. Alcohol will not help as this cream is causing your natural pigment to get darker, it's not ON your skin, it's IN your skin. You can't wipe it off, you can just help the upper layer of skin be removed quicker.

If you just take showers daily, it will go back to your natural tan in no longer than 5 days or so.

Why do you not like it? I use it quite often and love it. :)

There IS a thing in a bottle called 'tan remover' :D I prefer the MODELco brand.

Oh and as RecordProducer said, showers will work too. Whenever I get a spray tan [read: much harder to remove than a bottled tanning agent] my beauty therapist says to not use soap as it will strip the colour and make it run. So using a lot of soap should fade it also.
