Not interested in dating anymore

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I realized lately that I am not interested in dating anybody right now. It is kind of weird for me (male, 25) but as it turns out, I'm really into my work and hobbies right now and women seem unappealing to me. I am not depressed or anything, just busy (and happy) with my life. I'm trying to learn new things, get in really good shape, and have fun at work. Has it ever happen to you (you can a man or a woman)? Any tips about traps I should not fall into (like waiting for too long, becoming a loner)? Does it sound weird to you?

Not weird at all. I had the same feelings as you this past summer. I was only interested in doing my own thing. It was a positive step up for me. Enjoy your time. Just make sure that when you are ready to date again, take your time to get to know the person. Never rush into anything.

Nope. Not weird at all. I spent two years following my divorce living like a monk and thoroughly enjoying it. That I ultimately fell in love with a long-term friend was happenstance. I could just have easily (maybe easier) stayed single and uninvolved.

Either way, no regrets!

Thats the only way to be!

Its when your always out there looking is when there is a problem.

You will find that this is the time when girls become more interested in you anywayz.

Dude, I find that when you DON'T LOOK you tend to "bump" into the next romantic partner. But you should be involved with being out there as much as you can, just don't set yourself up in situations where you think you might meet someone, let it happen naturally.

I'm in the same boat, and I don't mind. Work takes up a lot of my time, and I spend my weekends recovering and catching up on sleep.

Am looking into some weekend sports to meet new people... co-ed events are very popular here, especially with summer around the corner. Might do some beach volleyball or night swimming at a public pool, but I have to do something before I turn into a hermit (once the World Cup finishes in July).

What's dating ???

I'm the same here.. I just live my life and keep busy being happy till something falls in my lap..

I have to watch though as I have a tendacy to go overboard being by myself and do things that keep me away from women.

Like going to my cabin in the mountains.. I do that every weekend but sometimes it keeps me from meeting people.

...so, that is why I can't find a man: decent young men aren't interested in dating :(. Anyway, no, you are not weird. I am a 21 year old female, I love my job, I love my hobbies, and I love hanging out with my friends; it's like I have neither the time, nor the desire to date. Hahaha, and the guys who usually hit on me are in their 30's, and a number of them are married. So, I find it difficult to even like men at this point. Anyway, I find it interesting to know that there are actually guys who aren't interested in dating; many of my female friends aren't, but most of my guy friends are always on dates. I think it is best to establish a career before worrying about relationships. However, I wouldn't totally abandon the idea of dating. You are young; you might meet the woman that would be your perfect match in everyway. Just keep your options open, and if you find someone that you are the least bit interested in, put yourself (job, hobbies, etc.) aside, and go for it.

I remember those days.. my 20's and 30's.. I used to work 18-20 hrs a day 7 days a week..

The girls I dated back then used to come to my work and fall asleep on the couches there in order to see me..

I miss those dedicated women now I'm in my 40's

I don't think there's anything weird about it. You're 25, so you've got MANY years left to worry about getting married, starting a family, etc. if that's what you want. Until then, these are your carefree years, enjoy!

That's fine as long as you don't burn yourself out and become jaded.
