Forget About Her

Long story short...

Dated for almost 5 years, lived together (just us) for 4 years. Very in love, best friends, etc. I treated her like s*** most of the time, and she finally moved out of my house and left me. We've been broken up for 17 months!

We've kept in speratic contact throughout that time. She dates around, ALOT. She is very attractive with an amazing body and gets a lot of attention from guys. I have been dating exclusively the same girl for the past 10 months.

Me and the ex have been talking more lately, and she said that she still sometimes thinks about getting back with me. She claims that she loves me as a friend, and would do anything in the world I ever needed, but she is not "in love with me". I broke down and finally told her that I would be willing to give it another chance.

She said that she thinks about it alot, and she's not 100% sure. She said it's a big decision, and if she gets back with me, it would be for life, so she has to think about it.

Is there anything I should be doing or saying, or a certain amount of time i should wait. Even after a year and a half, I still have incredibly strong feelings for this girl. I'm kind of at a loss, and know that after a year and a half, it is not normal to still have these feelings.

Any advice?

Forget About Her

Forgot to add a few things. She initiates contact every time we go a little while without speaking. I tell her that I can't deal with just being friends, so we had exclusively email contact for a few weeks. She emailed me every day and asks me for advice on all her life situations, just like she used to.

She also said that NOBODY is able to hold her attention like me. She said she'll meet a cool guy and date him for a month or two and just loose interest. She said that she was never bored or lost interest once in the 5 years we were together, and that if we were to get married, she would honestly feel like she was marrying the best friend she ever had.

I'm getting a lot of mixed signs, and not sure what to make of the situation or the direction that this is going.

We met up the other night so that I could help her with her pull-ups, for a physical test she has to do. We went to a little park up the street, and she said that she couldn't believe how much fun she had with me, just spending an hour in the park playing around and bulls***ting. I asked her to leave when we got back to my house, b/c i was getting upset just being around her. She text'd me that she didn't want to leave and really misses me.

PLEASE HELPPPP, need some objective advice.

It's probably either:

1. She realizes what she lost.

2. You're her safety net and she's worried about being alone.

It's most likely 2. If you broke up with your current gf to get back with your ex, things didn't work out, and you ended up losing both girls, would you be fine with that? If the answer is no, then don't give your ex a second chance.

WTF are you doing with her then????

Sounds like my recent man..

You shouldn't be messing with someone elses heart if yours is still attached to your X..

at 10 months this girl is surely developing feelings for you and you are using her to fill in the void of your X.. Dude this is so unfair...

WTF.... As for your X--if you and her broke up it was for a reason... Look at the reason and truth behind it. Your X sounds like she has a problem with being alone. She has to have a guy to make her feel wanted. She is clinging to you in a way so if she doesn't have some dude to run with she can fall back on you as a safety net.

THIS SITUATION IS TOO CLOSE TO HOME FOR ME. IT JUST STIRRED MY NERVE AND PISSED ME OFF.

Well from a womans perspective i really think that if she is not in love with you and not 100% sure why gamble with that.It seems to me is that she misses the friendship part in the relationship. In our lifetime we connect in a special way with only certain people. Its normal to miss that feeling. Honestly I will watch her closely because you might only be filling a void that no other guy is giving her right now.

GOOD LUCK...
