Ok,

So I have been doing this "alone" thing for about 6 months now and it sucks. On the upside of things I have become almost totally independent, and love my time by myself more than I ever have. However, I just want someone. Where is he??!! lol

I find I get most upset when I have to carry a lot of groceries upstairs and they are too heavy or I have to kill a bug in my house....I don't know, just really frustrated right now and need to vent, so thank you for reading. And to top it off, my apartment complex is just full of happy young couples I swear new ones move in every weekend. I am just in this slump right now I guess...

Anyone else feel like this???

I have to say the grocery bag and bugs are less common than "I just need someone to hold me through the night". :)

The part about loving yourself more than ever is beautiful though and if you really do then the he will soon be the moth attracted to that flame. He's on his way ;)

I have to agree with you 100% and to top it off DATING SUCKS!!

There are benefits from being independent but most women will like to have someone around. I hate when my home gets so quiet so when i start having these feelings i try to get out of the house. I keep busy so i wont have time to think about it. To me it got real bad when i had my car accident. I only had my family and friends to rely on but i wished in my heart i had a significant other in such time of need.

Right now im planning to move and I wish i had a boyfriend that could help me with my furniture.

But then again i wont settle for less. Ill rather be alone than having a man that is a a**h***. I have one I dont need another one:lmao::laugh:

Good Men are hard to find. Dont loose faith and stay positive this is just temporary the best is yet to come:cool:

Just be patient and don't go looking for it. I know how you feel, it gets frustrating sometimes. Just be as independant as you can and rely on yourself for everything. When you do meet that person, it will be that much more sweeter, because you were so used to going through it alone:]

VERY TRUE...This is my opinion of this whole lonely thing too. I would much rather be lonely than deal with a crappy bf! I am really trying my best to stay positive, however,I am beginning to get discouraged for finding a good man. I have had3 friends have their bfs cheat on them...WHAT THE HELL??!! Seriously what is up with guys today? Can't they just want one woman!??

OMG, DATING SUCKS! I seriously cannot go on anymore dates. I hate them, they are so depressing to only end up s***ty. I did online dating and had to seize because it was too dissappointing.

LOL Is it bad that I love sleeping in the middle of my king size bed alone?!

:) That is a wonderful way to look at this Whole thing...thanks for the positive view. My mom has told me that when I finally find the right guy to love, it is going to be twice as wonderful as what I had with my ex.

Thank you for all your replies!

Yep. The next guy that I date will be very much appreciated. I miss having a man around the house. I just want to hear, "Let me get that for you, hon" once more! I'm on my third year of being single, don't know when it will happen.

Being patient & independent is highly overated.

YES! I just remember hearing "No hunny, you shouldn't carry those, they are too heavy!" UGH, My mom and my dad have also said that I am somewhat of a "princess" but, I have been learning that I don't need to be with someone to be treated like one... because I can tell you sitting at home worried sick waiting for my boyfriend to come home from the bars was not being treated like a princess!

I really don't like being alone that much so it is easy for me to get lonely and it really does frustrate me sometimes. I would love to have a special person out there that I could spend time thinking about and planning little things for. But I just have to face that fact that there is no one there. Ya, it sucks… I would love to meet a nice, honest girl who I can give everything I have to offer to but I have no clue if she will ever come along…

I would say I'm pretty happy. Used to hate being alone at first, now I cherish my "me time". This weekend, I mowed my own lawn, did some landscaping with crescent block, & spray painted my son's futon bunkbed and installed it in his room (which was a real b&^ch to do by the way, I have about 5 new bruises on my legs).

I may be better a catch for a woman instead.

No Problem! To cheat is an active choice, we are all not just slaves to our emotions but we are able to make decisions from our brains... I choose not to cheat therefore I don't.

But all that being said it is not that easy to find women who also feel the same way (and really mean it)... :(

Yes, I almost always do. Even when I've been involved with a guy I feel alone.

I want the inner connection with a man

I want the logical connection with a man

I want to be held and touched affectionately

It sucks being alone,

It sucks being lonely

But I have too right now...

Ok,

However, I just want someone. Where is he??!!

im right here. :)

just so you know, its the same for guys. it all depends on your last relationship. my gf of 5.5 yrs left me for someone else. i had been looking for rings at the time. i never cheated. i treated her like gold. so after feeling that way...why want someone else? it feels like you cant win.

im so afraid to date because im afraid ill compare. being with someone for a long time without wanting someone else doesnt just go away....yknow? but i am willing. i just need to meet someone.

Good for you! Mowing a lawn and painting something...WOW, I am in awe...lol seriously...

I love my time by myself. I am very proud of the large improvement i have made with that. My whole life used to revolve around my ex, now it revolves around me! And, for example, this weekend my best friend was hanging out with me all weekend and she was sleeping over at my house...And seriously, by Sunday I felt like I needed my time by myself again. So I have to say (not to toot my own horn) but I am proud of myself. I never thought I would be at this point in my life.

Totally agree with you...And isn't that what sucks...It is like the one thing I cannot control in my life. I cannot change the fact that I am alone because it requires me to find someone worth it.... *sigh*

Yes it is bad, very bad.... a sign of being severely BiPolar, you should seek treatment immediatedly!:lmao:

Heck no! In fact I don't quite relate to the "hold me through the night" phrase myself, I love the Mr. to bits but I can NOT stand having that tight continous, sweaty, annoying, frustra... I'll stop, just don't like being held close all night:D

feel the same way 2020, its a real bummer... :(

Well, I have to say. One of the reasons why I started this thread is because everyone starts posting their experiences, and IMO, we all feel a little less alone! :)

im right here. :)

I feel the same exact way right now. I feel like I tried so hard to make my relationship work with my ex and it was all thrown in my face in the end. It discourages me from even wanting to try again sometimes.

Comparing is the worst. That is what I end up doing. Guess I am just waiting to find a guy who sweeps me off my feet so I totally forget about me ex. I know thats not really reccommended but at this point I think thats the only thing that will distract my heart and brain...

i fear i'm becoming a recluse... This is the first time in my life I've lived alone, and then my job closed it's office and i was forced to work from home, which is great because I want to move to another city (no worries about finding a job), but it's annoying because i have no real life coworkers. Plus, I dont have very many friends where I live. My ex was my whole social life, so it's very difficult living alone, not wanting to put too much effort into building a social life because I plan on moving as soon as my house sells. I've lived the last year pretty much alone, and I'm lucky if i go out once a month. I'm lonely... but now everytime i'm with ppl, i can only do it for short amounts of time, then i get burned out and want to be alone... then i get depressed cos i'm alone, then go out with friends, then want to be alone lol Being single SUCKS, but at the same time, I'd rather be alone, then feel crappy about myself because my ex thinks I'm demanding and selfish.

funny enough. i have the same thought....as rare as it is to have a girl sweep a guy off his feet (though its been done before). i know its bad. i know its not recommended. but i feel like i need to just be gaga over someone in order to get past this. ive been single for a year. no random hookups (im not into that). no pity dating (i respect myself and others more than that). i just want to be....thats it...swept.

Yes, Since my ex is the only real expierence I have had with love, I feel like I need something to trump it to not even miss my ex at all...Sounds bizarre, but that is probably what is jumpstarting my lonliness right now..Yup, I am okay with semi-missing my ex still, but keep having this feeling like there is this void that needs to be filled.

And its not rare, its called falling in love with someone! Although, wait, I just repeated that to myself...it is RARE to find someone to fall in love with! :)
