Star Gazer
I've always wanted to try a fat loss supplement, something like Hydroxycut or something...anyone have any opinions??
tanbark813
I've tried this product called S.A.N Tight before. It's supposed to enhance your metabolism. It definitely gives you a lot of energy and you feel warmer in a way, but the downside is that I got really anxious on it to the point that I felt emotionally unstable after a few weeks. It didn't seem to actually help with weight loss much, and even if it did, the anxiety wasn't worth it. I've recently been using this other product called Fat Bloc (or something like that). It's more of a natural fiber that's supposed to make fat absorption more difficult for your body. This I think has actually helped a bit. I've never used Hydroxycut but I had a friend who did and it didn't really help him much aside from making his heart race at random times. Ultimately, though, no supplement is going to be better than eating right, exercising and drinking an asston of water.
catgirl1927
Speed is speed. If you read the ingredients, most of these supplements contain large amounts of caffiene, which basically revs you up and controls your appetite. You can buy generic caffiene pills at the drugstore for exponentially less than you'll pay for brand name diet pills. I've used Hydroxycut, I liked it. But like I said, it's just speed. tallbrunettmom
If you dont mind small risks the best diet pills are the ones that contain ephedra. They put them back out on the market with a smaller ephedra dose than the ones they took off two years ago. I had gained 60 lbs. during a pregnancy and lost about 75. It really works. catgirl1927
I just looked and was unable to find any ephedra? It's going to be hard to find, it was taken off the market because it was causing heart attacks. It's back now, but I don't think it's the same any more.
Sassy
My SO cousin took Hydroxycut and was she had to be rushed to the hospital . They found out she was having seizures from taking it . She stopped taking it and no more seizures. I think it is to each is own. What might work for one might not work for the other. Be cautious when taking any diet supplements. vi_pn_babe25
Yes ephedrine (ephedra) does work wonders to maintain weight, but it's also highly addicting, at least for me it is. I'm actually trying to stop because it's not good for my heart and I can tell it's taking it's toll. But it's hard to kick because it literally is speed and I love the rush I get from it, and it suppresses my appetite. Also some people say I have an eating disorder because I take them every day to stay skinny, so it can also lead to a type of eating disorder problem. It's true that ephedrine pills are hard to find but I buy mine at certain gas stations. Usually you have to ask for them because they keep them hidden behind the counter. The reason why I think they (gas stations) can sell them is because the pill box is labeled for people with asthma. Plus gas stations are more willing to sell them because truck drivers use the pills to stay awake, and that's why ephedrine is often called "truckers speed". But if you decide to start taking ephedrine, just be aware of the side effects and would it can lead to. I hope this helps!
Spank'n'Rationality
They brought that stuff back? Oh man, I remember in high school I used a diet pill that contained ephedra and I went from 150 lbs to 120 lbs in a month. Though, I had trouble concentrating (like I had A.D.D.), and I couldn't sleep (I swear it sounded like my heart was going to come out of my chest), but seeing as how I am back to 150 lbs, I would like to take it again (plus try to eat better, etc.). The pills I take are labeled specifically for asthma but the pills are half ephedrine and half guaifenesin. I've also taken the mini thin version, but again it's mixed with guaifenesin, so I think as long as it's not purely an ephedrine pill it's legal. That's my understanding anyway. And I've only found them at gas stations, and like I said you have to ask, and show your ID because the pills are kept behind the counter. All in all though you still get the same effects like the old pills.

Well i dont know if it was made me lose weight but it made me want to work out!! Does anyone know any names of pills that have this now?? Like I stated above, most of the ephedrine pills are combined with other chemicals so it's a legal to sell because it helps people with asthma. The pills I take are Mini Thins (yep still available) and rapid strengh. But like I said, I've only been able to find them at certain gas stations, because most of the time truck drivers pop them to stay awake.
kitten chick
Pulling up a little bit of an old thread. Does anyone know of a diet pill that doesn't have ephedra in it? I want to try one for a week to see if it will help jumpstart my metabolism. I don't intend to use it indefinitely. I can't take ephedra due to medical issues.

It's back now, but I don't think it's the same any more. I used to take it when I was bartending. I stopped becaue I could feel it messing with circulatory system. You guys know that's what they make meth out of, right? I didn't know then, but it makes sense. -T-

With the mini thins that you take, how many do you take a day>? they have 25mg ephedrine in them, how many and how often do you take them? I am not sure what is too much with them. gym junkie
I have heard that slim quick is a great weight loss supplement when accompanied by reducing ur calories and a good workout routien 3-4 times a week. vi_pn_babe25
With the mini thins that you take, how many do you take a day>? they have 25mg ephedrine in them, how many and how often do you take them? I am not sure what is too much with them. Thanks For me if I want to feel an instant and longer lasting "high" (energy boost) then I take 2 at a time, which equals 50mg. Sometimes I'll take 3 a day but not all at once. But if you're not used to the effect, I suggest taking 1 pill a day or just 1 every other day. If you take 2 at once and it's the first time the pill's being introduced to your body, it will make you feel cracked out (shaky, nervous, eyes may appear dialated, & your heart will race or even skip) I've become immune to taking just 1 pill, so that's why I take 2 and even 2 pills still make me feel like I'm literally on meth, like someone mentioned. Yes ephedrine is actually an ingredient used to make meth. F.Y.I. - I'm just answering a question that someone asked me, so by all means I don't condone taking ephedrine pills, because there are risks involved. With that said....pop responsibly
Filipa
Hi.. I tried already and it didnt work.. and I was doing work out l.. 1 to 2 H. every single day cardio and some weights... .. except sundays.. Dont spend money on that.. I have tried Slim Quick for an entire month and nothing.. maybe they let you stay in your weight but doesnt make you loos weight like people say trust me.. or.. can be thateach body is different or something.. Im trying to lose just 5 pounds and i cant.. is kind of impossible.. I think is this food in the US.. is full of weird things.. nothing is really natural, even the water have stuff on it that make you fat .. I say so because iam from other country and since im living here, even if a eat the same portions and kind of food that i used to im still 14 pound bigger than before when i used to eat a lot in my country. Here, the fruit and vegetables are bigger, sweeter.. the milk is super.. the cows are bigger so.. think.. theres something that make them different and that something is playing with our health. Exactly. I recommend that you don't take ephedra... it's too dangerous. I know this from experience, after not being able to sleep at night, even though my body was exhausted. But that's what you do in college. Drugs. There are much safer alternatives out there (like herbal supplements)... go to your local health food store and talk to someone about what's right for you. Stupid_Dummy
I've always wanted to try a fat loss supplement, something like Hydroxycut or something...anyone have any opinions?? Hydroxycut (24/ caffeine free/ hardcore) isn't that great. Most of the people I've spoken to have tried it, and have had mixed results. I personally recommend taking an appetite suppressant. As long you burn more calories than you take in, you should be fine. You could always try ephedrine, and stack it with caffeine pills - from what I've been told, it works wonders.
