Has anyone had one or maybe know someone who has had one? After my son (who weighed a whopping 9 lbs at birth) I have some loose skin around my waste that HAS TO GO!! I've heard some horror stories. Does anyone have some success stories or have any info about it?

I've only known several women that want them. I hear it's expensive and sometimes has complications. Your skin has only so much elasticity. I think over time the problem might get much better. Perhaps you should wait a few years to see how much of it is absorbed?

Well, I would be inclined to see it that way, but my skin also stretched (much scaring) and I know once the skin has stretched it won't go back

I know what you mean..........my second child was around 9 pounds as well. And I don't think it gets any better, however I had two more children after him.

I haven't had one (but had a consult), but this is what I know:

Mini TT-not many complications as the dr. is only removing loose skin. He suggested an inverted T incision. The cost (albeit about 7 years ago) was around 2 grand total.

Full blown TT-removing skin, fat and tying down the ab muscles. This one has many more complications, as well as more pain & expense. I'm not sure what this costs, but I remember reading somewhere that it was at least a couple grand more than the mini.

Do you think you'll have more kids? My dr. said I should know absolutely that I was through having more as it will reverse the procedure and I will be at square one again. Good advice.........I had another. :D

Tim'sAngel-if you do this, please keep me updated!

Yes, please update us. I've already talked to my plastic surgeon, we will SO be doing this as soon as I'm done being pregnant. I'll probably only have one anyway, so I want to do it as soon as possible.

I have not had one, and won't because there is the possibility of another child. But if you go to some twins and multiples forums and post your question, you'll get a lot of input. Try Twinstuff's parenting board.

I think the people there talking about tummy tucks are talking about $8-13,000. That's a general ball park, but you'll find people there who can give you specifics.

Thanks for the reply ladies!! I'll deff keep you updated on the situation. And no, there will not be anymore children so that isn't an issue. I dont want all the tying down muscles and ... i dunno whatever else climbergirl was talking about, I want the mini one, i just want the loose skin taken away. I can tone my own abs and lose the fat. I can't unstretch my skin. Did any of you ladies have to deal w/the skin stretching/scaring?
