Does this mean he is going to propose?

I think I may have met my soulmate. We met in a very unique and speciel way. I posted an ad to meet someone, and through my responses, I got a response from a wonderful englishman who is lives in the same area as me, but was leaving for London and would be there for 5 monthes. Anyway, he sounded interesting, so I ended up starting to corresponding with him. We corresponded in long e-mails for 5 monthes, as well as having very long phone conversations. I knew sort of early, he might be the one. We recently met, and he is even more wonderful then I could have ever hoped for. We had instant chemistry, and we both agreed we have never anyone like each other before. We both feel like we have known each other for years.

Ok, so there's the backround, and now here's the question:

We were out the other night. When the date started out, he was asking me kind of randomly about jewlery, and specifially Tiffanys, then about an hour later he was asking me how ladies weddings rings work and how you buy them, we drove up to a nice spot in the city near which we both lived, and he stopped the car. He asked me this question kind of point blankly. He said: " What would you say if I came back next week ( he's currently out of the country traveling to see his family but will be back next week) and I said to you , ' I have known you for six monthes, and I would like to marry you, what do you say?" I said " Yes." And then he was kind of like " really" and asked me the question again. Later, he was asking me what kind of ring I like, and we were kind of joking around about how much he would spend. Also I asked, where we would get married and he said some very specfic places.

We are both traditional people ( he is 28, I am 23) who believe in monogramy and marriage and both would like to get married. If I did end up getting engaged, I would wait a year, until I graduate college. I have a feeling he would like to get engaged because he has been cheated on by his last girlfriend and I am thinking he would like to make a commitment to me. This summer, he will be traveling often, so maybe he wants to know he's got a fiancee at home. Anyone have any thoughts here?

I think he's going to propose - but you two are still in the "honeymoon" phase of your relationship and that combined with getting to know each other mostly long distance makes me think it's way too soon! At your age there shouldn't be a rush to get engaged - he may be trying to insure your fidelity. I had a friend with a very similar story except her guy was a marine going on deployment for 6 months who was a totally different guy when he got back. They broke up and it was obvious that he just wanted someone to be his faithful girlfriend and correspond with while he was away. I'm not saying that this is all this man wants, but it may be a factor in the rush to get engaged.
