My new bf used to date someone from a rich family and i feel very insecure. My family is lower middle class and i don't have a big salary. I contribut to mortage payments and car payments so I don't have a lot to spend on nice clothes. I feel so low when i have to wear non designer clothes when i go out with him. he meets his ex gf sometimes and one time, i saw him withher and she looked so pretty , like a princess

 

he always say she is elegant and that makes me feel bad. i don't have much money to nice clothes or have time to make myself look good. Do guys prefer rich girls to girls like me? will they feel like they give up a lot if they used to date a rich girl and is now going with a poor one?

A decent guy worth having won't care what you wear (within reason) as long as your clothes are clean and you are well groomed.

 

Get off this kick about being a poor girl. Your status is simply where you are now. As you move on in life, things will get much better for you. If you obsess with this, you will destroy your relationship.

 

By the way, if you get really good at it you can put together a very nice wardrobe from K-Mart. All the biggies like Sacks Fifth Avenue, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, etc. buy their clothes from the same manufacturers as K-Mart and simply sew their labels on the back.

 

If, in fact, the kind of clothing you wear is important to your guy he just isn't worth having and you can tell him I said so. The most excited a man gets anyway is when his girl has no clothes on at all. That pretty well levels the playing field.

You got nothing to worry about as long as you match your clothes well and they fit you ...

 

I have heard guys say lots of times that it's silly of girls to dress up like crazy: "if she has a good body, she'll look good even in a simple black dress, if she doesn't - no huge dress is gonna help" - this was about prom, but it applied to every-day too, i think ...

 

u can still dress sexy - wear it tight, bright colors, etc.

 

i agree w/ tony bout k-mart btw! i've bought some very nice stuff from them and zellers & ppl thought it's designer clothes...
