dgiirl
Sounds like dgiirl has a thingy for guys in uniform... Is it *my* fault that the profession seems to draw really hot men? I dont think it's the uniform. Nickname for firemen.... Umm...show offs :lmao: just kidding... rofl, i meant their term for "blue flu". Author ilmw
Hi all, Well tommorow I go over to DW place to work out some outstandin bills and Child Support.... should be interesting... I bought a new shirt... jeans and a black leather jacket... too see if she would notice.... read and heard to always look good.. smell good...and act good.... like I have life by the balls again... I'm getting there... the confidence is coming back... in spades.... I am actually looking forward to this.. it will probably be the first face to face conversation we have had for a few weeks.... and the kids are in school... so no interuptions.... I'll advise tommorow how it went... I don't actually have any expectation of anything coming out of this other than... some things sorted out finanically. My S/son called me at work tonight... asking if I could print something off for him..a school project... as the printer at their house had run out of ink... I of course...said yes.. He also asked if I could drop it off at school in the morning as his school is just around the corner from their house.. I once again said it would do no problem... then we joked around how he owed me big time... and I would expect repayment... we had a good giggle... it was nice to hear him laugh like that.. its been awhile... All this time... I knew his mom.. was right by him... she was emailing the doc for me to print off... It was nice.... realy nice that I was asked to help him... kinda felt like old days.... with the s/son that is... Take care all... ilmw

I dont know what you're doing, but it's definitely working and suits you well It was nice.... realy nice that I was asked to help him... kinda felt like old days.... with the s/son that is... That's really great to hear. I heard you in another post talking about how the kids are acting up just a little, and I think that's normal. They are just as confused as we are, and they try to push the boundaries whenever they can. It sounds like you and your wife are working together to try to keep things as consistent as possible for them. That's really really good! Plus you are showing them a good role model. Life doesnt always turn out the way you want or hope, but you can still pick yourself up off the floor and continue with life with grace. Good luck tomorrow!

dgiirl
PS...ummm how do you multi quote.. I can't stand quoting someones entire.. reply/post...etc... I do it the difficult way. I simply insert the opening tag (quote=...) and closing tag (/quote) manually. (Where () are replaced with [].) However, looking at the quote interface, there's an icon that will wrap quote tags around selected text. Second row of icons, 3rd last button (next to # and S). Select the text you want, then click that button and it will wrap quote tags around your text.

Lor
I see my friends who are in long term relationships, speaking to each other the same way my exh and I did, and I constantly ask myself how come they are still together? Why do people give so much importance to such trivial things. Not to backtrack on this line of thought, especially enjoying the men-in-blue conversation . Cops are sexy (oops!), much more so than firemen ~ can't see the package thru all the gear....lost in thought....... okay, back to what I was saying, its funny that you mention that about other couples and their relationships. I too have noticed that about a lot of couples I know, how they talk to each other, how they treat each other. In my rideshare this morning, the woman called her daughter, then a little while later called and talked to her H. Afterwards, the guy in the truck asked why she doesn't tell her H she loves him like she does her daughter. She said because her daughter still likes her. They laughed but there I was thinking, do you really want to be like that? What can you do to fix it? Why stay distant instead of mending the fence? Don't take each other for granted......all the things we had to learn the hard way.

dgiirl
oh sheesh, which topic thread should i focus on... men in uniform or couples who have got into a rut they no longer see how badly they treat one another.... hmmm men in uniforms and.... men in uniforms... hmmmm huh? what was the other topic? lol, Lor, I've experienced similar situations. Couples simply get into a rut and they start to take one another for granted. It's a very hard lesson to learn when the spouse just ups and leaves, but you cannot convince anyone of what you see because they'll just deny or dismiss it. Hopefully I will never become that comfortable ever again to take someone for granted the way I have. hmmm men in uniform

Author ilmw
I woke up this morning... and this was the first time I have been over to my Dw's for something other than picking up the boys.... although it was only to talk about financial stuff. Well get this.... I slept in... i said I would be over at her place between 9-9:00am... I woke up at 9:00.... ahhhhhh.!!.. I got home from work around 1:00am this morning... so it was not like I was up late... and I have not slept in for over 8 months.. So I had the quickist shower and shave ever... ... Then I look into the mirror and I see a friggen white head on my upper lip... once again..ahhhhhhhhh!!... Now... I have not realy had any acne since I was in my late teens.... now there is this honking white head:mad: ... then it dawned on me that I had been on the gun range on monday... After I cleaned my side arm... (I have this habit of scratching my face.... did when I worked on cars and on the tanks... put it this way... if there is dirt around... it will get on me somehow:laugh: ) I must have scratched my face when I had some gun oil on my finger.. and the scratch must have gotten infected... Well I would have gotten all bent out of shape... but the new ilmw(5.0) took it in his stride... couldn't do anything about it.... so why worry... right...right:) Got dressed up in my new threads...splashed some expensive aftershave on... and got all pretty:laugh: On the way grabbed a couple of coffees... then stopped at s/sons school to drop off his school project... the one I printed off at work... I then get to her house... and we got the financial stuff out of the way and agreed on child support... ... Then we went on to talk about the boys...and some of the attitude issues... we agreed to keep an eye on it.. We then talked about work for a little while... but kept it short... We then chit chatted about this, that, and the other... ..While were doing this ... I noticed she was playing with her hair.... she pulled it to one side (into a pony tail) and was stroking it... she also had her neck exposed... her head was on a slight angle...(this might sound weird...but...I have always loved her neck) Ahhhhhhhh! She played with her hair more than once.... Funny thing is it was completly innocent... I don't think she ever realised she was doing it.... I was a good boy... stayed focused... stayed in control... I matter-of-factly said she was looking good.. she replied "thank you"... My Dw then went onto say... how I was looking good too. How I had more colour in my face... and that the frown was gone... I looked happy...... peaceful. I then told her that I had let go off allot of my past.. that which had been keeping me back. I let her know... that I was always happy with her and the boys... It was at this point that allot of emotions came flooding up to the service... but I managed to maintain my cool.... and stay strong... She asked if it was the self help stuff... I replied it has allot to do with it.. All through are conversation we maintained allot of eye contact... and we laughed allot... I actually laughed my arse of.. about something she said.. she can be quite funny at times.... She then grabbed some of my stuff for me that I had been meaning to pick up.... but it was in her garage... which has always been locked when I have come to get the boys... and it never realy has been a big deal... there was still a box in the garage which... I did not have room in my car... so she let me know it was ok... for the box to stay until I wanted it. I then left... but I did not feel that I was being rushed off... we stood out front of her house... for a couple of minutes... she did not have a jacket on and she stood there talking to me.. I know better than to read into any of this... so I have no expectations... But... I did leave her place with a feeling of good will.... I only expected to be there for maybe half an hour.. but it turned into almost 2 hours... All in all... a much better visit than I expected... :) As ever...we shall see...cause I have become a patient little grasshopper:D ilmw
