We set a wedding date.

Recommended Posts

The wedding will be July 29th and we are going on our honeymoon in Europe for a month. It will be a simple thing in her parents backyard with catering because we don't want to spend a fortune. The road trip idea will have to wait until another because we were sidetracked by the incident with my ex. It will still be in San Fran because most of her family is there.

Congratulations.

I think you should keep in mind that it was just days ago you were talking about dumping her. If you're going through with this, then DO it. Don't flip-flop on it. It doesn't matter whether it's just in your head or heart or here on LS, you owe it to her (and yourself) to be into it 100% with no more thoughts of getting out for any dumb, selfish reason. Fear, or your past, or your mom or whatever else: no more excuses, Woggle.

My doubts about her were not about her. They were other issues and now I realize it.

Everyone knows it wasn't about her. It was about you. That's the problem you should be keeping in mind. It has nothing to do with her, except that you're about to marry her.

I think he's making a big mistake to marry her. I don't understand the point of having a honeymoon. Is it really necessary?

Why is it not necessary to have a honeymoon?

I agree. Why not? The honeymoon period, is a critical time in any marriage.

IMO, more important than the actual wedding reception.

I think that's a great idea. Enjoy your trip to Europe. I am really glad you are working thru your issues and that you are willing to leap forward in your life. Just know that no one and nothing is perfect. She may make mistakes in the marriage just as you may. But if you put your marriage first and respect one another you can make it sucessful.

Congrats Woggle.

Congrats!!

That's good. And when those bad thoughts come into your mind, just remember the woman infront of you is not the one(s) who has anything to do with you past.

I still think, (sorry if this sounds harsh) that you need to talk to a therapist, just to sort out past hurts, resentment and issues relating to your mom.
