after having my 3rd unplanned child,i planned on having my tubes tied.my husband insisted that instead he would have a vasectomy.i agreed & was extremely touched. right before the procedure,he told me he was terrified of certain "horrible sideeffects". i didn't want him to go through with it-sohe dismissed the whole idea.recently i found myself once again pregnant. in anger,i blamed him for not having the vasectomy. he told me the real reason he didn't have it done was because he felt i was never comitted to our ten year marriage&he needs to keep his options open. i feel so betrayed. i gave my life to him&have loved him with my heart&soul.i know now he is the one who is not committed. what do i do?

First of all, there a no side effects whatsoever to a properly done vasectomy, except that a man cannot get subsequent women pregnant. Only extremely skilled surgeons can reverse them and often even those are not successful.

 

The current pregnancy is your responsibility. When he refused to have a vasectomy, you should have immediately gone through with your plans to have your tubes tied. I mean FOUR unplanned pregnancies is really excessive.

 

I think your husband is full of crap and his excuse that he thought you were not committed to the marriage is a bunch of bunk. He had no qualms about getting you pregnant four times. It doesn't take an Oxford scholar to see that a woman who is willing to raise a man's unplanned children is extremely committed to the relationship.
