Still in love with ex-boyfriend

I had an affair with a colleague 9 yrs back. But due to our parents not agreeing for our marriage we broke up. It was quite hard on me, and still hurts me as I feel that he was my soulmate. Eventually I had an arranged marriage with another person, but that didn't last for more than couple of months due to some genuine reasons. Since then I tried contacting my ex-boyfriend. Came to know that he is married for 2 yrs now but is not very happy with his marriage either. We now communicate daily, chat or talk on phone daily for couple of hours. The talk is limited to general things and nothing romantic or anything. I am not sure what he thinks of me.

What should I do, stop talking to him? Am I really in love with this person or is it only my loneliness and the memories of all the good times we had is making me yearn for his company.

look if you feel as strongly for him now then what you did back then go for it. we only live once and from my experiance instincts never lie and im back with my ex who i loved so much i went in to depression when we broke up. i have never been so happy then what i am now and its all down to my instincts.

go for it girl and you never know you could be the happy ever after people can only dream of!!!

good luck

If your relationship was dissolved because of family disapproval when you were both single … how will the fact that he's now married make life any easier on the two of you now ???

Reminds me of that movie Devdas...

This is a gigantic mess. This is why parents should never get involved with this kind of stuff. They f***ed you guys up, but that's neither here nor there.

I'd say leave the ex alone for a bit and get yourself back on the market. If you find someone new to make the lonliness disappear, you might find out for yourself if you really want him.

Don't make things worse for him with his marriage. Even if he is unhappy...

You may still love your ex, the fact is that he's married whether he's unhappy or not. I wouldn't get too emotionally invested in this if I were you, because there is a high risk you could just become the other woman and end up hurt at the end. I'd leave the ex alone for a bit and date other available guys. Does his wife know you two talk for hours?

I agree u are all right. I shouldn't be doing this but the problem is I don't have any other friends and I feel very comfortable talking to this person.

No, his wife doesn't know we talk. Till now it was ok as we were talking on general things but just yesterday he told all abt his marriage how it wasn't going well etc. Now that things are in open I don't know where this will lead to.

I am unable to focus on anything else, if he is late to work I get anxious and most importantly I am not interested in seeing anyone else. for one, there aren't any great people out there who can really win me over and secondly, our frequencies match perfectly.

hi indiangirl,

i too understand the confusing and feelings you're feeling. i'm in a similar situation...i broke up with my ex over a year and half ago because we had some problems and i decided that it was best to end things, and found myself someone else immediately to try to get over him. but quite often i think about my ex and a few months ago i think i came to a realization that i was still in love with him. it's a sticky situation you're in...you definitely don't want to go after a man who's married. but i understand your longing for him. maybe it's nostalgia? maybe it's true love? no one knows...but like someone else said earlier, give yourself time to meet other people, and if you still feel the same way you feel...then it could be love.
